Bank Unused Vacation Hours – Deadline: September 30, 2024

Faculty, Academic Staff and Limited Appointees with a 12-month appointment have an annual opportunity to bank unused vacation after completing ten fiscal years (July 1 through June 30) of continuous service. The deadline to bank unused vacation allocated in fiscal year 2023-2024 is September 30, 2024.

Vacation and carryover balance hours that are eligible to be banked may be viewed beginning July 1. The Banked Leave Conversion Tipsheet includes instructions for viewing your leave balances and banking unused vacation.

How Much Vacation Can You Bank?

The amount of vacation that can be banked is prorated for part-time employees.

There is no limit to the total number of hours (balance) that can be retained in your Banked Leave account. Once vacation is banked the hours do not expire.

When Can Banked Leave Be Used?

With your supervisor’s approval, banked leave hours may be used whenever you are allowed to use paid leave.

What If You Terminate Employment?

Unused banked leave hours will be paid to you at your wage rate at termination.

SUMMER PREPAY DEDUCTIONS: SUMMER EMPLOYMENT/FAMILY STATUS CHANGES

If you are a nine-month Faculty, academic staff, limited appointee, student assistant, or employee-in-training who had summer prepay insurance premiums deducted from your spring, 2024 paychecks, and you have had an employment or family status change, reach out to your benefits contact for information on how your insurance benefits and deductions may be affected.

What are Summer Prepay Deductions?

Summer prepay insurance premiums are deducted from spring paychecks to cover the cost of continuing insurance coverage through the summer months (i.e., contract break) and are in addition to regular biweekly insurance premium deductions.

What if Your Employment/Family Status Changes Over the Summer?

Employment Status
: If your summer or fall 2024 employment status changes after summer prepays were deducted, you may receive deduction refunds. If you will be terminating employment and will not return in fall 2024, reach out to your benefits contact to determine your employment termination date and insurance coverage end dates.

Family Status: If you experience a family status change such as marriage, birth of a child, or divorce, reach out to your benefits contact for information on how your insurance benefits may be affected.

Note: Nine-month employees’ insurance premium deductions will resume on the September 5, 2024, paycheck.

Administrative Service Professional, Business & Government Outreach

This position reports to the Program Manager for the Business and Government Outreach Department and provides general administrative support, while exercising discretion, to the administrator of a department or division of the institution or to the administrator of multiple institution programs, services, and activities. Responsible for overseeing the department’s administrative duties, including managing deposits. The department provides non-credit training to business and government entities, runs certificate programs, and holds conferences.

Assistant Professor – Computer Science/Software Engineering (2 Vacancies)

The Resch School of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for two tenure-track positions in Computer Science or Software Engineering, one beginning in January 2025 and the second in August 2025. These positions may contribute to general Computer Science; emphases in machine learning/AI, cybersecurity, and data science; and a new BS in Software Engineering in addition to contributing to the general education mission of the university. The successful applicant will contribute to a growing Computer Science program, a new BS in Software Engineering, and partnerships with Microsoft and regional industries. Bilingual Student Services Specialist

This position reports to the Student Services Manager and interacts with students as they matriculate by providing administrative support and coordination throughout student processes including admission, registration, financial aid, academic progress, graduation, international education, and course scheduling. Provides information to students, faculty, and staff regarding related processes and maintains and updates student records. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

Assists clients (i.e., enrolled and prospective students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public) with routine transactions and inquiries, educates clients about university policies, procedures and resources, advises clients about alternative courses of action, and works collaboratively with other university offices and external agencies on behalf of clients to expedite problem resolution.  Specialists respond proactively to phone, e-mail and in-person inquiries and transactional requests by clarifying the request, diagnosing the problem, researching the resolution, acting on the request, and following up as appropriate. Specialists make recommendations to the Enrollment Services Manager, the Enrollment Services Directors and Dean on procedural and/or business practice improvements and help track customer service metrics to continuously improve student services and satisfaction.

Assistant Professor – Accounting (Auditing)

The Department of Accounting & Finance in the Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Accounting. Candidates with professional accounting experience with expertise in auditing and who have a CPA, CMA or CIA designation are encouraged to apply.  The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business values university-level teaching experience, the ability to teach a variety of classes required for completion of the Accounting major, CPA or CMA designation, engagement in institutional, community, and professional service, and experience working in the world of business.

The successful applicant will contribute to an academic unit which is growing in enrollment with programs in accounting, finance, and economics. Over the past several years the business school’s Charles Schwab Foundation Center for Financial Wellness and the Willie D. Davis Finance and Investment Lab have been established within the Accounting and Finance Department. The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business enrolls a large portion of our growing university’s students. The college and departmental connections to the region and its business community are extensive.

This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay’s mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
