Welcome Patricia Schevers!

On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, Patricia Schevers started as an Education Outreach Executive Manager with the Housing & Residential Education department.

Patricia’s preferred pronouns are she/her/hers and her preferred first name is Patti. She would like to share that she pronounces this as P AE T-iy- † † English pronunciation guide: P as in “pea (P.IY)” ; AE as in “at (AE.T)” ; T as in “tee (T.IY)” ; IY as in “eat (IY.T)”

Her educational background includes graduating from NWTC with her associate degree in May 2020, transferring to UWGB in Fall 2020, and graduating with her bachelor’s degree in December 2022. Prior to working at UW-Green Bay, she worked with Salvation Army Kroc Community Center.

For community involvement, she would like to share that she is a strong proponent of education, experiences, and inclusivity. In her time at the Kroc Center, she headed up all special events for the community and notable events included International & Community Festival and Senior Life Expo. Additionally, she has been a Volunteer Coordinator for the Oneida Nation Bird Monitoring Project since it began in 2021 (a partnership with NEW Audubon, UWGB, and the Oneida Nation) and is a Conservation Coach for Wisconsin Women in Conservation (WiWiC).

She also would like to share that her hometown is Oneida, WI and that she lives with her partner, son, and mom. She also has two dogs, two goats, a flock of chickens, and a hive of bees. She is a lover of nature and spends a great deal of time outside on her family’s Centurian farm, which she and her partner have transformed into a conservation restoration. She is also grateful to be here, to continue contributing to the community, building upon her existing relationships, and forging new partnerships with all.

Meet your Facilitator: LaTonya Washington

LaTonya Washington is an authority on company and customer culture, well-known for her interactive trainings and motivation. Her objective is to help build a positive company culture where employees can thrive.

After 30 years of operating in the medical field, and an Associate Professor at Mt. San Jacinto College, she developed skills on how to effectively leverage language and interactive models of successful engagement, and helping companies stay relevant in today’s times.

LaTonya is grounded in research from fields of cultural anthropology, social behavior, leadership, and message processing. Her vision is to see us being effective communicators without bias.

She is a graduate of Youngstown State University School of Nursing, Certified in Public Relations from the UCLA Extension Program, Degreed in Business Administration and recipient of the SoCo Institute Business Scholarship Award.

Ms. Washington is on the Inland Empire Regional Advisory Committee of Education, Board of Advisors for Bradshaw and Company Business & Consulting, Leadership Council for The Connected Women LA Chapter and Saks Fifth Avenue Ambassador for CJ Jeans, the Blue Jean line of Cookie Johnson, the wife of the Legendary Basketball Great, Earvin “Magic” Johnson.

Prior to working at UW-Green Bay, he worked at Associated Bank for four years. His hometown is New London, WI and he enjoys learning Guitar and Ham Radio.

Deadline Extended: First Year Experience Manager

This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Access & Success and manages and coordinates key components of UW-Green Bay’s First Year Experience which includes First Year Seminar, Gateway to Phoenix Success, and collaborative student success programming across the university. This person leads the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of the First Year Experience in order to meet strategic, departmental, and student success goals.

In order to build a holistic First Year Experience for students, this highly collaborative position will develop stable and productive relationships across the university including the Division of University Inclusivity & Student Affairs, the First Year Seminar Faculty Coordinator, Enrollment Services, and the Division of Student Access & Success. This position will serve as the co-coordinator for UW-Green Bay’s first-generation student success efforts.

Deadline Extended: Custodian (2nd Shift, Multiple Vacancies)

This position reports to the Custodial Services Supervisor and maintains the overall appearance and cleanliness of the designated work area.  Work performed in this position includes manual cleaning and maintenance of UWGB buildings.  General areas of responsibility include: cleaning offices, restrooms, and other building areas; maintaining all floor surfaces including mopping, buffing, vacuuming, shampooing, and refinishing; cleaning windows (inside and outside); cleaning furniture; assisting with furniture, piano and equipment moves as required; stocking restrooms and custodial work areas with necessary supplies and products; waste and recycling removal; snow removal and salting of building entrances. This position will be required to drive a State vehicle and travel between work locations as needed.

Inventory Control Coordinator

This position reports to the Chief Facilities Officer and coordinates, operates, and maintains the shipping, receiving, and surplus property functions necessary at the university. This person also works with Facilities Management supervisor’s inventory records to ensure materials are being tracked in accordance with UW System requirements. This position works with the Shipping and Receiving Clerk, as well as, any student employees.

UW Shared Services Mandatory Training Schedule Update

Mandatory Employee Training (MET) courses will now be required to be completed by employees in March of each year. This change will include Information Security Awareness required annually and Sexual Harassment (Title IX) required every three years. Mandated Reporter will continue to be assigned at the time of hire with no requirement of retraining. Our understanding that in this transition year, those individuals who took the training between October 7 – December 31, 2022 will not be required to take the training until March 2024. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
