Welcome Heather Clarke!

Business Administration recently welcomed Heather Clarke August 22, 2016, as an Assistant Professor in Human Resource Management!

Heather completed a Bachelor of Arts (Memorial University of Newfoundland), a Bachelor of Law (University of New Brunswick), and a Master of Business Administration (University of New Brunswick) before entering the practice of law.  After several years as a practicing lawyer, she pursued her PhD in Management (Memorial University).  For the past two and a half years, Heather has taught courses in human resource management and business law at Memorial University, while completing her PhD.  She is from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.

Welcome Jessica Delzer!

img_0262-002NEW Partnership for Children and Families welcomed Jessica Delzer on February 22, 2016, as a Trainer!

Jessica previously worked for the Shawano County Department of Human Services for 12 years, where she was the Behavioral Health Division Manager and provided family court mediation for Shawano County.  She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from UW-Milwaukee and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  Jessica serves on the Board for the Shawano-Menominee area group ROADS (Reaching Out About Depression and Suicide).  She grew up on a dairy farm in Little Suamico, Wisconsin, and currently lives with her husband and three young children in Shawano, Wisconsin.

Welcome Hannah Fameree!

On January 11, 2016, Hannah Fameree was welcomed by the Student Service Center as the new GBoss Front Desk Specialist!

Hannah previously worked at Ashford University in Denver, Colorado, and is new to the Green Bay area. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin, and is very happy to be back in the Midwest. Hannah loves exploring nature, traveling, and going to Crossfit in her free time. She is originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Welcome Jessica Hopp!

On August 8, 2016, University Advancement welcomed Jessica Hopp as the Manager of Events and Stewardship!

Jessica earned her Bachelor’s Degree from UW-Green Bay and is currently pursuing her Master’s. She is the Chair for the Leadership Green Bay curriculum committee and volunteers with Downtown Green Bay.

Jessica was raised in Southern Wisconsin; however, she has called Green Bay home since 2005.  She currently lives in Hobart with her husband and 6-year-old beagle.

Welcome Saeid Amiri!

amirisaeid2Natural and Applied Sciences welcomed Saeid Amiri on August 22, 2016, as an Assistant Professor of Statistics!

Saeid earned his Ph.D. in Statistics at Uppsala University, Sweden.  Since then he has been working on several projects that have led to publications. His ongoing research includes high dimensional data, statistical machine learning, and application of statistics in genetics.  He is very keen on the applied side of research and collaborating with other scientists.

Prior to joining UWGB, he was a visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa.

Welcome Katie Turkiewicz!

Katie earned her Masters and Doctorate in communication from UW-Milwaukee. For the past four years she has been part of the communication faculty at the University of Wisconsin – Waukesha. Katie’s research interests include health communication and various interpersonal communication topics.

Internal Support Manager – University Union (2-Year Project Appointment)

The Internal Support Manager reports to the Assistant Director of the University Union – Internal Support and is responsible for Personnel Department duties for student employee hiring and orientation, student wages, evaluation, recognition, on-going training, confidential personnel files, long-term projects, overall work performance and exit interviews. Additional responsibilities are focused on employee policies and procedures, team-building and recognition activities, leadership training, and organizational communication for the University Union. The Internal Support Manager is also responsible for providing development administration and support of all new Digital Media efforts. The Internal Support Manager will work to ensure that the development of efforts is consistent with the mission and goals of the University Union and contributes to the quality of student life.

Facilities Maintenance Specialist

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and  will be responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of locksets, door hardware and general plumbing fixtures and components.  This position will also perform general inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of campus building structures and equipment. In addition, this position performs preventative maintenance, inspections, other seasonal activities, and is responsible for inspecting laboratory systems and equipment and making necessary installations and repairs. This position will also maintain an appropriate parts inventory, order parts when necessary and provide professional advice on the materials and time required to complete various tasks.  This position may also direct the work of student and/or temporary employees as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Director of Player Development (Women’s Basketball)

The Director of Player Development will design curriculum and teach in person and on-line courses in the area of Physical Education.   This position will deliver courses that fulfill the certificate in coaching program.  The individual will plan and organize instruction and learning strategies in ways that maximize student learning.  The successful candidate will report to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, and will also assist in the oversight of the operations of the women’s basketball program.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned Physical Education courses.
  • Design and deliver curriculum in person and online.
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Market the coaching certificate program to a wide range of audiences.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the women’s basketball program.
  • Plan travel to away games, bussing, airfare, and hotels.
  • Coordinate with visiting teams for their needs.
  • Use film exchange service to coordinate all film exchange during the season.
  • Facilitate scheduling with the Kress Events Center staff and the Resch Center.
  • Hire, supervise, and train student managers.
