During week four, 34 employees participated in the Campus to Campus Walking Challenge, and as a group we logged 2,378,411 steps! During week four, we walked from Alburquerque, New Mexico to Tulsa, Oklahoma to Nashville, Tennessee to Charleston, West Virginia! The average steps per team member per day was 9,993. Did you know that not only is walking one of the easiest ways to exercise, but moderate-intensity walking for 30 minutes or more each day can lower your blood pressure, help you maintain a healthy weight, lower your risk for heart disease and stroke, and improve your mood! During week four, Ron Kottnitz, Jayne Kluge, Jeff Krueger, Lea Truttmann, and Barb Tomashek-Ditter had the highest number of steps. Keep exercising and enjoying this mild fall weather!

Assistant Professor – English Composition and Humanistic Studies
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and the Humanistic Studies department seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in English Composition. Contingent upon election by faculty, the successful candidate will direct the English Composition Program and the Writing Center.
Applicants with a demonstrated potential for writing program administration, the ability to work with teachers campus-wide to support writing in the disciplines and writing across the curriculum, successful experience teaching in English Composition, and experience with a range of writing courses beyond English Composition are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates with successful experience tutoring in a writing center, as well as familiarity in digital rhetoric and multimodal composition, are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Welcome Scott Ashmann!
The College of Health, Education, and Social Welfare welcomed Scott Ashmann as the Associate Dean on September 6, 2016.
Scott has worked for UWGB since 2003! He currently serves on the advisory board for the nature-based, 4-year-old kindergarten program at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary and on the Education Advisory Committee for the Einstein Project. He was also the past chairperson of the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board 2009-2014.
Scott received his Bachelor’s Degree from UWGB in Chemistry and Education; a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership in Education from UW-Milwaukee and Geoscience from Mississippi State University, and his Ph.D. in Science Education from Michigan State University.

Campus to Campus Challenge – Week Three Results
During week three, 34 employees participated in the Campus to Campus Walking Challenge, and as a group we logged 2,559,863 steps! A Wellness Committee member suggested that we try to walk across the United States next. During week three, we walked from Los Angeles, California to Phoenix, Arizona to Alburquerque, New Mexico and most of the way to Tulsa, Oklahoma! The average steps per team member per day was 10,755. Did you know a typical pair of tennis shoes will last 500 miles of walking? As a team, we would have worn out two and half pairs of shoes! During week three, Jayne Kluge, Ron Kottnitz, Lea Truttmann, Barb Tomashek-Ditter, and Jeff Krueger had the highest number of steps. Let’s see how far we get during week four!
Custodian (Second Shift)
The University of Wisconsin – Green Bay has a current vacancy for a full-time, second shift Custodian to work in the Laboratory Sciences building. This position works under the general supervision of the Custodial Services Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of their designated areas.
This position includes the following responsibilities:
- Clean offices, restrooms, and other building areas.
- Maintain all floor surfaces, including mopping, buffing, vacuuming, shampooing, and refinishing.
- Clean windows (inside and outside).
- Clean furniture.
- Assist with furniture, piano, and equipment moves as required.
- Stock restrooms and custodial work areas with necessary supplies and products.
- Remove waste and recycling.
- Perform snow removal and salting of building entrances.
- This position will be required to drive a State vehicle and travel between work locations as needed.

Theresa recently began as the Director of Continuing Professional Education and Wisconsin Caregiver Academy for Outreach and Extension on September 26, 2016.
Theresa worked for UW-Extension, Family Living Programs, for 9 1/2 years. She is also actively involved with the United Board and Boys & Girls Club.
Theresa received an undergraduate degree in Human Biology and Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Management & Organizational Behavior.
Her hometown is Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Kathy Reissmann was welcomed as a Dean Assistant by Science & Technology on September 26, 2016.
Kathy previously owned two H&R Block franchises for 14 years. Prior to that venture, she worked for the City of Clintonville for 8 years. Kathy earned an Associate Degree from Fox Valley Technical College in Accounting and Administrative Assistant/Information Processing.
Kathy’s hometown is Marion, Wisconsin. She has 4 children (1 daughter and 3 sons) and has 6 grandchildren.
