Welcome Pooja Agarwal!

agarwalPooja Agarwal has been hired as a Lecturer for the 2015-2016 academic year in Business Administration.  Pooja previously taught as an adjunct instructor in the College of Business at UW Green Bay. She taught Business Statistics and Business Computer Applications. She earned her Bachelors in Science and Masters in Business Administration ( concentration: Human Resource Management) from India. She earned another Masters in Education Administration & Organization Development from Kent State University, Ohio. Pooja also serves on the Board of YWCA, an organization with the misson to empower women and eliminate racism. She ia also an active member of the organization’s community service committee.  Pooja is a member of North East Wisconsin Indian Association, and INDUS Organization and participates in their activities and programs. She is originally from India, but resides in DePere, WI with her husband and two children. Welcome, Pooja!

 

Welcome Vallari Chandna!

Chandna_VallariUWGB is excited to welcome Vallari Chandna as an Assistant Professor in Business Administration! Vallari is moving here from University of North Texas (UNT) where she has been studying for her PhD. She earned her MBA in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from UNT as well, graduating top of her class and receiving the Outstanding Graduate Student Award. She has a degree in law (BA.LL.B-Honors) from RSTMN University, India where she was ranked third in her Law School. She has presented her research at many regional, national and international conferences and is involved actively with these conferences through her service as reviewer, discussant, session chair and also recently served as a track chair. Vallari has taught multiple management subjects as a PhD student and also has experience working in the retail and media industries in India. She is happy to be moving to snowy Wisconsin with her husband, after having survived many Texas summers.  Welcome, Vallari!

 

HVAC Specialist

Under the general supervision of the Building and Grounds Superintendent, the primary responsibilities of this position include the performance of HVAC preventative maintenance and repair work.  This includes inspecting, maintaining, repairing, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting with minor installations of HVAC projects.  This position will also maintain the campus energy power generators, above ground fuel storage tanks, and vacuum pumps.

Welcome Nina Powell!

UWGB_BioNina started in the Social Work Program as a Lecturer and MSW Field Coordinator on August 1, 2015.  She worked the past four years as an Experiential Group Therapist with children in a Day Treatment Program. She also worked the past six years as an online Human Services Instructor. Nina has experience working as a Social Worker in a variety of settings including residential, in-home therapy, emergency services, foster care, adoption, and in an adolescent group home. Nina has called Wisconsin home for eleven years after moving to the Green Bay area from Omaha, Nebraska. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Nina received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2005. She enjoys writing children’s books focused on therapeutic topics. Welcome, Nina!

Welcome Jen Schanen!

14Jen started in the Social Work Program as a Lecturer and BSW Field Coordinator on August 1, 2015. Jen previously worked in Oneida for Wise Women Gathering Place as a Program Outreach & Evaluation Specialist for five and a half years. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work at UW-Green Bay. Jen is a certified yoga instructor and cat enthusiast. She is originally from Port Washington, Wisconsin.

Assistant Professor – Psychology

Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach

The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach reports to the Head Swimming and Diving Coach, and assists with all aspects of running a successful Division I swimming program. Responsibilities of this position include assisting in the recruitment of student-athletes through observation of ability and talent in accordance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Horizon League, and UW-Green Bay, as well as providing technical expertise and utilize sound coaching methods aimed at improving the athletic performance of student-athletes.

Employee Spotlight: Gail Sims-Aubert

UW-Green Bay students can rest easy in the housing on campus with Gail Sims-Aubert as the Director of Residence Life. Gail has been overseeing daily operations and all facets of student housing at UW-Green Bay since October 2013.

Gail was born and raised in a small town, Bruning, Nebraska (population 300). She is one of five children and a first generation college graduate with a BA in Broadcast Sales/Management and Master’s Degree in Speech Communication. Gail religiously reads her hometown newspaper every week (Hebron Journal Register) because it keeps her “in the know” with small town life. Gail is married and has two wiener dogs, Thelma and Louise. She is an organized, thoughtful and detail-oriented person who loves fitness, cycling, watching college basketball (Go Phoenix!) and reading.

Gail loves working with her staff of professionals and students, because no two days are ever the same. One of the most important things Gail has learned in life is to say what’s on your mind, because life may not give you a second chance.

Welcome Jake Timm!

Timm_WebJake started in Athletics as the Director of Multimedia Services on September 1, 2014.  Previous to Green Bay athletics, Jake worked in TV news in Wisconsin and Virginia. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV/Film from UW-Oshkosh. He is originally from Manawa, Wis. where he now lives with his wife and three young daughters.  Welcome, Jake!
