Assistant Teaching Professor – Economics

The Accounting and Finance Department in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay seeks applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Economics. The Cofrin School of Business values university-level teaching experience, the ability to teach a variety of classes related to the candidate’s academic field and preparation, engagement in institutional, community, and professional service, and experience working in the world of business.

The successful applicant will contribute to an academic unit which is growing in enrollment with programs in accounting, finance, and economics. Over the past year the business school’s Charles Schwab Foundation Center for Financial Wellness and the Willie D. Davis Finance and Investment Lab have been established and endowed within the Accounting and Finance Department. The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business enrolls a large portion of our growing university’s students. The college and departmental connections to the region and its business community are extensive.

Supervisory Essentials Certificate – Summer 2024

The Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement is pleased to offer the Supervisory Essentials Certificate to any UW-Green Bay supervisor who is seeking professional development. The next cohort for this program begins on June 13th 2024!

A certificate program designed for new leaders and frontline team supervisors, seeking to influence, inspire and help others be their best selves. Help your team pull together in meaningful ways to propel projects forward. Gain the skills and confidence needed to empower others and yourself and contribute to an organization’s growth and mission. Supervisors can complete this program with only $299 in expenses for materials and other items charged to their departmental funds. Supervisors are encouraged to discuss the cost with Division Heads/Area Leaders if funding is a barrier to participation. There is no limit to the amount of supervisors who are able to enroll.

To earn the UW-Green Bay Supervisory Leadership Certificate participants must complete eight courses:

June 14 – Core Course: Understanding Your Strengths to Lead Others (9:30 am – 12:30 pm)

June 20 – Topic Course: Developing an Adaptive Leadership Mindset (9:30 am – 12:30 pm)

June 27 – Topic Course: Helping Your Team Achieve Organizational Management (9:30 am – 12:30 pm)

July 11 – Topic Course: The Roadmap to High Performing Teams (9:30 am – 12:30pm)

CRM Application Administrator (1 Year Temporary)

This position reports to Director of Enterprise Applications. The CRM Application Administrator is responsible for configuring, integrating, administering, and providing advanced and varied consultation, project management, and operational support of highly complex applications or services with a large number of users. This position anticipates issues and devises resolution methodology to support the business operations of the institution.

This position will report to the Information Technology Division but will work collaboratively with multiple areas that utilize CRM technology, including Continuing Education, Enrollment Services, Graduation Studies and the Weidner Center. This position will act as the liaison between the Information Technology Business Analyst and the functional users for each department.  Specific job duties will include leading end-user meetings, ensuring collaboration between departments, providing training and functional end-user support.

Welcome Jorge Aguilar!

The Office of Human Resources is delighted to announce that Jorge Aguilar has been appointed into the position of Associate HR Director for Talent Management effective Tuesday May 28, 2024. Jorge will lead a team of HR Talent Partners to provide administrators, supervisors, faculty, and staff consistent and strategic HR support and services relevant to the entire career lifecycle. Specifically, Jorge will be responsible for strategic oversight over HR Functions such as coaching/employee relations, performance management, onboarding, offboarding, recruitment, learning & development, FMLA, position description development, and employee engagement. In addition, Jorge will serve as an institutional contact for complex employee relations matters, and will provide guidance, support and expertise to supervisors and employees regarding employee relations processes.

Jorge has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from UW-Eau Claire. He is certified as a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) through SHRM and a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) through HRCI. Jorge brings extensive human resources leadership experience from his previous work with Sheridan, World Council of Credit Unions, Access Community Health Centers, Outlook Group Corp., Kimberly-Clark, and Procter & Gamble. We are thrilled that he has joined our HR team!

The Office of Human Resources is currently engaged in a planned staffing transition to develop a true HR Talent Partner model across UW-Green Bay.  This model will:

    • Align roles within the HR Office with the functionality of Workday (which will be implemented in July, 2025);
    • Integrate HR more naturally within college/divisions across UW-Green Bay to provide talent support and collaboration; and
    • Ensure that HR can best serve as an impactful partner with employees, managers, and leadership, guiding employees throughout their careers and meeting the needs of UW-Green Bay in areas such as business analytics and talent strategy.

We expect to fully implement the model later in the summer, and are looking forward to providing more information to the institutional community in the coming months!

Deadline Extended: Bay of Green Bay NERR Tribal Engagement Convener

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is the lead state agency for the designation of a new National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) for the bay of Green Bay and will serve as the employer and administrator for the Bay of Green Bay NERR personnel and activities.

This position will develop and support long-term relationships between First Nations Tribes and communities with connections to the Lake Michigan-Huron region and the Bay of Green Bay NERR. The Tribal Engagement Convener will ensure tribal community interests are represented in the Bay of Green Bay NERR planning, programs, and activities. They will contribute to collaborative programming within the larger Great Lakes NERR sub-region. The position will build connections between Bay of Green Bay NERR and UW-Green Bay’s First Nations Studies Program and other campus units and programs. This new position will evolve to address changing tribal priorities and the maturation of the Bay of Green Bay NERR.

The Tribal Engagement Convener will deliver, assist with planning, and lead the following initiatives, supporting the Education vertical of the NERR system, while also contributing programming and support to the other verticals (i.e., Research, Stewardship, and Training). The primary role of this position is to build relationships in support of the development and implementation of K-12 programming, with a priority focus on working with the Oneida Nation School System.

  • Work with tribal schools to develop, promote, and integrate K-12 educational programming around estuarine waters for tribal learners.
  • Develop, promote, and integrate educational programming for K-12 students around estuarine waters for learners at non-tribal schools that enhance understanding of tribal cultural perspectives as they pertain to estuarine waters. Expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services related to coastal and estuarine waters.
  • Contribute to national conversations and initiatives in partnership with reserves across the coastal states.
  • Develop and actualize integrated research, stewardship, and training programs among Great Lakes tribal partners, the Green Bay NERR staff and partners, and the Lake Superior NERR. Programs will target organizations, professionals, and individuals with an interest in Great Lakes estuaries, wetlands, and coastlines.
  • Support extramural funding efforts focused on shared NERR and tribal interests around estuarine research, education, stewardship, and training.

The person in this position will be affiliated with the Center for First Nations Education and the Education program at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The potential exists to develop a unique course or course component in UW-Green Bay’s teacher education program.

This position will strengthen partnerships among tribal nations in Wisconsin and Michigan and the Bay of Green Bay NERR, and help expand collaborative funding targeting estuarine water programming among tribal entities, the Bay of Green Bay NERR, WI education systems, non-governmental organizations, and local, state, and federal agencies.
