On January 7, 2019, the Controller’s Office welcomed Carrie Schultz as a Financial Specialist Senior.
Carrie has been working with her husband at Schultz Trucking, LLC since its inception near the end of 1999. She attends to the office and bookkeeping duties while her husband maintains the driving role.
Carrie tries to be involved in the community whenever she can either assisting her daughter’s coaches at practices and helping out with selling concessions. She is a plasma donor at Biolife. She enjoys helping those who need valuable injections of healthy plasma so they can lead more productive lives. She also has been handing out water during the Bellin Run.
Ford Mustangs are Carrie’s passion. She currently drives a 2005 Roush Mustang and her family is restoring a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang. She lives outdoor activities and we can find her at the ballpark in the summer, at the gun club watching trap, and sitting in the bleachers watching the dance team perform as well cheering on the basketball team. She also likes to ski, snowmobile, and enjoy walks with her dog, Lady.
Carrie has an Associate’s degree from NWTC. While leaving the work force to raise her kids, she decided to go to UWGB to obtain a Bachelor’s in Applied Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She received her degree in 2010 and graduated Cum Laude. She still felt compelled to complete a degree in Accounting so she applied to Lakeland University. She has 5 courses to complete her Bachelor’s degree and hopes to obtain that within a few years.
Carrie was born and raised in Wayside, WI and is currently living in the country outside of Denmark. She is married to her husband, Brian for 20 years. They have three children, Heather, 18, who is a Senior at Denmark High School, Dylan, 16, a sophomore at Denmark High School, and Ashlyn, 13, a 7th grader at Denmark Middle School. They have a dog, three cats, a chameleon, and a few tropical fish.

On January 7, 2019, the Facilities Management and Planning department welcomed Paul Derenne as a HVAC Specialist.
Paul comes to UWGB from Sodexo where he worked for 9 years. He is an Elder at St. John’s in Luxemburg.
In his free time, Paul can be found at his kids sporting events or following the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers.
Paul went to school at Western Wisconsin Technical College. He is from Casco, WI and is married to his wife, Heather. They have four children Cameron, Will, Christian, and Hannah.

This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Information Technology & Library Services / CIO and is responsible for supporting the university community in their use of computer technologies and application software. Working collaboratively with the other teams within the IT Division this position provides seamless technology services for faculty, staff and students in support of the UW-Green Bay mission and vision. This position oversees the operational and personnel activities for the following services: IT Service Desk, computer labs, lab printing, and workstation inventory (including acquisition, and disposal). The Client Services Manager leads a team of academic staff, university staff, and student employees, and serves on the Information Technology Division Leadership Team.

This position reports to the Manager of Network Services and is responsible for all aspects of Windows desktop development, utilizing Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Server (SCCM) and VMWare Horizon View. Additionally, this position provides Active Directory and Group Policy administration as well as enterprise application support.

This position reports to the Director of Facilities Planning & Management with daily direction by the campus HVAC Specialist and is responsible for the general maintenance and repair to facilities, grounds, and equipment for UW-Marinette. This position will be the second responder to afterhours emergency calls regarding fire alarms, lockouts, plumbing emergencies, and power outages.

On June 7, 2018, the Board of Regents adopted Resolution 11038 on employee personnel files and reference checks, which required the development or modification of certain human resources policies for all UW institutions regarding:
Effective January 1, 2019, Operational policies Operational Policy HR13: Personnel Files and Operational Policy TC1: Recruitment Policies were modified and published to satisfy these new requirements.
As part of the modification to the Operational Policy HR13: Personnel Files, updates were made to clearly identify a list of what must be in an employee’s personnel file, define when and with whom personnel files are shared, and require appropriate documentation of sexual violence and sexual harassment in personnel files.
In addition, updates to the Operational Policy TC1: Recruitment Policies were made to ensure consistent disclosure of violations of sexual violence and sexual harassment policies to hiring institutions. Furthermore, institutions are required to ask about sexual violence and sexual harassment during the hiring process. Human Resources will be working directly with areas currently conducting recruitments to ensure that these new requirements are communicated and understood.

The new year is upon us, and with it begins the University Staff performance evaluation process for the evaluation period of January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018. Supervisors should initiate the annual review process with University Staff employees within the next couple of weeks.
Annual performance evaluations are a key component to employee performance and development and provide employees and their supervisors an opportunity to discuss job performance, set goals for professional development, establish objectives for contributing to the department’s mission, and discuss expectations and accomplishments.

In line with UW System compensation guidelines and the UW-Green Bay Compensation and Pay Plan Policy, all compensation adjustments must be based upon merit and employee performance. Therefore, any future pay adjustments, including base rate adjustments and Board of Regents approved pay plan, will be contingent upon satisfactory performance.
In an effort to facilitate timely completion, evaluations are due by Friday, March 22, 2019.
Please note that annual performance evaluations are not required for individuals who have had a probationary review on or after July 1, 2018, or for new employees that have been hired since this date.
