New Deadline: Bilingual Student Services Specialist

This position reports to the Enrollment Services Manager and interacts with students as they matriculate by providing a variety of administrative support and coordination for student process including admissions, registration, financial aid, academic progress, graduation, international education, and course scheduling. Provides information to students, faculty, and staff regarding related processes and maintains and updates student records. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

Assist clients (i.e., enrolled and prospective students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public) with routine transactions and inquiries, educate clients about university policies, procedures and resources, advise clients about alternative courses of action, and work collaboratively with other university offices and external agencies on behalf of clients to expedite problem resolution.  Specialists respond proactively to phone, e-mail and in-person inquiries and transactional requests by clarifying the request, diagnosing the problem, researching the resolution, acting on the request, and following up as appropriate.  Specialists make recommendations to the Enrollment Services Manager, the Enrollment Services Directors and Dean on procedural and/or business practice improvements and help track customer service metrics to continuously improve student services and satisfaction.

Prior to coming to UW-Green bay, she worked at Wayne State University for 5 years, Indiana University Bloomington for 12 years, and Kansas State University for 3 years.

Kelly has an educational background consisting of a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling & Student Development from Kansas State University, a Master of Science in Counseling & Student Development from Kansas State University, and a Bachelor of Science from University Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Her hometown is Neenah, WI and she enjoys singing in choir, biking outside, walking dogs, travelling, and spending time with family & friends. She also would like to share that she just moved to the area, but is looking forward to getting involved in a variety of community organizations and activities.

Welcome Ryan Swadley!

On Monday, January 09, 2023, Ryan Swadley started as an Operations & Events Coordinator with the University Union.

Ryan’s preferred pronouns are He and Him and his last name is pronounced “sw-odd-lee.”

Prior to working here, Ryan worked for the Neville Public Museum for 7 years and the Wisconsin Historical Museum in Madison for 7 years prior to that.

His hometown is Stoughton, WI and he has an MA in history as well as certification to teach secondary level social studies.

Ryan would like to share that his wife is a children’s librarian and they have two middle school-age children, as well as three dogs. He enjoys food adventures like trying new restaurants and cooking/baking at home, spending time with his family & watching his children participate in sports, attending concerts and sports events, reading, and tinkering with various things in the shop.

Welcome Mary Bean!

On Monday, January 09, 2023, Mary Bean started as an Assistant Coach – Women’s Softball with Women’s Intercollegiate Athletics department.

Her preferred pronouns are She and Her. Prior to working here, she worked with the Schaumburg Boomers Professional Baseball Team for one season and the Dennison Silver Hawks 16u and 18u travel softball coach for two seasons.

She is also involved in the community, participating with Student Athlete Advisory Committee Initiative: Educating and opening discussions with the campus/Evansville community on current social injustices and promoting equality and unity amongst athletes and the community.

Mary graduated from University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. There she played college softball at the University of Southern Indiana for all four years. She also enjoys playing ping-pong, bowling for
fun, and is determined to become good at golf.

Her hometown is Schaumburg, IL. Her parents are Mike and Maggie Bean and her fur brother is Choppers Bean.

Some additional information she would like to share was that during her collegiate journey, she was University Student Athlete Advisory Committee Co-President, Great Lakes Valley Conference SAAC representative, and DI Exploratory Committee Member (named by university president). She is also a Big Green Bay Packers fan, loves dogs and plants.

New Deadline: Department Assistant – Behavioral Health Training Partnership

It’s true, that the primary goal of the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, is to teach all who are willing to learn. But we are also committed to moving forward not just as a university, but also as a region. And as department assistant in the Behavioral Health Training Partnership (BHTP), you’ll be accomplishing both.

We’re seeking that special someone who possesses both a keen eye for detail and a generous heart for service. That’s because the mission of the BHTP extends far beyond the classroom. Our collaborative efforts support 67 counties and 2 tribal nations in Wisconsin—providing training and supporting best practices in crisis intervention and other behavioral health services. And you would play a vital role in our collective success.

Attention to detail is a must! You’ll assist in establishing and maintaining the compliance of department records to ensure departmental goals. Your clerical tasks can include tracking department funds and purchasing, plus clerical, student support, and facility coordination.

In addition, you’ll be connecting with the communities we serve—managing meeting preparation and event planning for professional development that’s provided to behavioral health professionals through the partnership.

Additional responsibilities include office management and administrative support for BHTP personnel, supervision of student employees, budget reconciliation, and facilitating periodic training sessions for BHTP members. Training-specific responsibilities include coordination of online course enrollment, marketing of department training, providing customer service, supporting registration, billing, and payment services via department software.

Prior to coming to UW-GB, he worked at Rogers Behavioral Health for four years. His hobbies include anything outdoors with the family including camping, kayaking, fish, hiking, biking, swimming, and that he and his family like to try new food! His hometown is Green Bay and he has graduated from this university with an undergrad and grad degree in Social Work. His wife is Kia and he has two daughters, Kota and Sage, and two sons, Ben and Jay.

Deadline Extended: Assistant Teaching Professor – Economics

The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay seeks applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Economics. The Cofrin School of Business values university-level teaching experience, the ability to teach a variety of classes related to the candidate’s academic field and preparation, engagement in institutional, community, and professional service, and experience working in the world of business.

The successful applicant will contribute to the Department of Accounting & Finance and an endowed school of business experiencing sustained enrollment growth. The economics faculty and the BS and minor in Economics joined the Cofrin School of Business in fall 2021, providing new and significant opportunities for program innovation and professional collaborations. Over the past year the Department opened the Charles Schwab Foundation Center for Personal Financial Planning and the Willie D. Davis Finance and Investment Laboratory to improve community engagement and expand experiential learning opportunities for students. The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business has added approximately 900 students over the past 9 years, contributing significantly to UW-Green Bay’s growth. The college and departmental connections to the region and its business community are extensive.
