Kay started as an Advisor in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business on June 24, 2015.  She was previously employed at Lakeland College for two years.  Kay holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UW-Green Bay, and her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Counseling from Lakeland College.  Kay is originally from Kiel, Wisconsin, and married to Mitchell.  Welcome Kay!

 

Welcome Lea Truttmann!

IMG_1543 (2)Lea started as a University Services Associate ll in February 2015. She was previously employed at the Howard Suamico School District for over seven years. In her spare time, Lea volunteers at her church and participates in local running events. Lea holds an Associates Degree from NWTC, and is from DePere but currently lives in Suamico. Lea is married to Darin and has two teenage daughters, Alexis and Taylor. She loves running, waterskiing, and reading. Welcome Lea!

Welcome Jamie Tyrrell!

Jamie TyrrellJamie started as an Advisor and Student Teaching Coordinator in January of 2015. She was previously employed at Green Bay Public Schools for over 5 years as a Bilingual Elementary Teacher at Anne Sullivan Elementary. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Masters in Applied Leadership in Education, both from UW-Green Bay. Jamie is from Howards Grove, Wisconsin. Jamie and her husband recently started their own landscaping business. Welcome Jamie!

Welcome Dana Mallett

MallettDanaDana started as a Program Assistant for the Center for the Advancement for Teaching and Learning (CATL) in December 2014.  She previously worked for Greek Life at Illinois College for two years.  Dana earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and her Master of Science degree in Human and Community Resources at UW-Stevens Point.  She is from Boulder Junction, Wisconsin.  Dana and her husband, Justin, have two children – Jayden (8) and Maya (3).  Welcome Dana!

Welcome Aaron Maternowski

MaternowskiAaronAaron started in December 2014 as a Database Administrator.  He previously worked for Cellcom for over two years, and WS Packaging for 11 years.  Aaron enjoys being an Assistant Instructor at Herb Blue’s Total Self Defense, and is from DePere.  Aaron and his wife, Christine, their daughter, Jaina (9) and son, Rand (5), live in New Franken.  Welcome Aaron!

Welcome Meagan Strehlow

Meagan started on October 27, 2014, as the Coordinator of College Credit in High School and Education Outreach in the division of Outreach and Adult Access.  Prior to starting at UW-Green Bay, she was a fifth grade teacher for 10 years at the Luxemburg-Casco School District.  Meagan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from St. Norbert College.  She enjoys coaching volleyball, and is from Kohler, Wisconsin.  Meagan and her husband, Shawn have two children, Owen, 5 and Sydney, 3.

Welcome Rick Karius

Rick Karius is in his second season with the Green Bay men’s basketball staff and his first as the Director of Basketball Operations. Karius joined the staff in 2013-14 as the video coordinator and helped the Phoenix win the Horizon League regular season championship.

A 2009 graduate of UW-La Crosse, Karius spent two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater (2011-13). He also spent the 2010-11 season as an assistant coach at UW-Superior and the 2009-10 season at Southwest Minnesota State.

A native of Chilton, Wis., Karius was a four-year letterwinner at UW-La Crosse and served as a team captain. He was named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and All-Sportsmanship Team.

Welcome Beth Spoehr

SpoehrBethaBeth Spoehr took over the reins of the Phoenix softball program in July 2014, becoming the fifth head coach in program history.

A native of Appleton and a standout player at Appleton East, Spoehr went on to play collegiately at the University of Maine where she earned All-Rookie America East honors and All-Academic America East accolades three times. Over four seasons, Spoehr posted a 3.77 ERA in 95 appearances with 54 starts, striking out 208 over 360.1 innings of work.

After exhausting four years of eligibility, Spoehr spent a summer in Enköping, Sweden where she served as a pitcher and coach for the Enköping Softball Club. She also had the opportunity to travel as a volunteer assistant coach for the Sweden National Team at the European Softball Championships in Prague.

Following the summer season, Spoehr returned to Maine where she served as an assistant for the softball program while completing her degree in Kinesiology and physical and health education.

Spoehr is no stranger to the Green Bay softball program, as she has assisted at the team’s annual winter pitching clinics. She also has ties to the local softball community, working as a pitching coach for area athletes in addition to working with the Menasha Blue Jays and Appleton Rockers softball organizations.
