Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program can help employees pay off their student loans.  If you’re employed by a government or not-for-profit organization, you might be eligible for the PSLF program.  The PSLF program forgives the remaining balance on direct loans after you’ve made the equivalent of 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan while working full-time for an eligible employer, such as the University of Wisconsin System.  Please check out the Department of Education website for details at https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service.

To be considered for PSLF, start by submitting a PSLF form to UW-Shared Services for processing.  Please visit this webpage to access the PSLF form and instructions for submission:  Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program (wisconsin.edu).  Here is a link to DocuSign, if needed: https://account.docusign.com/.

Questions? Please email serviceoperations@support.wisconsin.edu.
* Never attach PSLF paperwork with Social Security Numbers to an email.

    • Student Employee Supervisor Training Series
      • You can now find the recording and PowerPoint here for Session 1 on Recruitment & Hiring of Student Employees.
    • Recruitment & Hiring
    • Onboarding Students
    • Time Approval
    • Performance Management/Evaluation
    • Employee Relations
    • Offboarding Employees
    • Employee Motivation and Engagement

This webpage will be updated after each student employee supervisor training. The information within the toolkit applies specifically to the supervision of student employees at UW-Green Bay.

New Student Employment Forms

In a continued effort to streamline processes, the Office of Human Resources and Workforce Diversity is excited to announce the following student employment forms are now live within BP Logix:

Through BP Logix, these standard student employment forms can be completed and approved completely electronically.  E-mail notifications will be sent directly to the student employees throughout the process, providing them with pertinent new hire information and resources (i.e., direct deposit, W-4 forms, timesheet instructions).

In addition, as previously noted within the Mission Alignment and Economic Resilience exercise for Human Resources, the processing of I-9 forms will be centralized.  As part of the new BP Logix student employment forms process, the Office of Human Resources will now complete the Criminal Background Check and I-9 steps from start to finish for all student hires.  This includes the employer verification step in reviewing documents of the I-9.

Announced last week, a Student Supervisor Training Series is being offered to aid student supervisors in the full life-cycle of student employment.  The first training session, being held on July 31st, will include information and a demonstration on the new student employment forms.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Human Resources at (920) 465-2390 or hr@uwgb.edu.
