Dean – College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences

The Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences is responsible for budget, personnel, curriculum, strategic planning and decisions, and for working with diverse constituencies to promote the University and these programs. The Dean will provide academic and administrative leadership and oversight of the interdisciplinary and the disciplinary programs in the College. The Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences will work in a collaborative fashion with the Deans of the College of Health, Education and Social Welfare; the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business; and the College of Science and Technology on matters of mutual concerns. The Dean reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and serves on the Provost’s Administrative Council.

Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist – Advanced reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of general plumbing fixtures and components.  This position will also perform general inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of campus building structures including door locks hardware and various campus equipment.  In addition, this position performs preventative maintenance, inspections, and other seasonal activities, and is responsible for inspecting laboratory systems and equipment and making necessary installations and repairs. This position will also maintain an appropriate parts inventory, order parts when necessary and provide professional advice on the materials and time required to complete various tasks.  The Facilities Maintenance Specialist – Advanced may also direct the work of student and/or University Staff Temporary employees as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Groundskeeper

This position reports to the Grounds Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining, renovating, and improving the campus landscape and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include pruning and fertilizing woody plants and trees on the campus. Mowing turf and miscellaneous green spaces with large, commercial-grade equipment. Assist in asphalt repairs on campus roads, trails, and parking lots. This position must safely operate all grounds related equipment, turf equipment, and snow removal equipment. Must possess skills to perform general maintenance and assist grounds mechanics in repairs of all types of equipment and trucks. Knowledge and safe operating skills of different types and sizes of chainsaws is required. This position requires knowledge of best pest management practices and safe pesticide and herbicide applications. Other responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, assist with training and direction of 8 to 10 part-time employees, including students, volunteers, and temporary employees. Provide technical support to all other staff members on all site work projects and grounds related workloads or tasks.
