March Madness Challenge

The Wellness Committee has created a March Madness Challenge for faculty/staff to complete.

This Challenge can be completed by picking activities from 4 different categories and completing them, then choosing which activity you would like to advance to the next round.

Completed forms must be submitted to Wellness@uwgb.edu by March 31st. Please send your t-shirt size, as participants will receive a t-shirt.

Submit a Recipe Challenge

Eating healthy is extremely important, one benefit of eating healthy is to reduce risk of developing coronary heart disease and to stop gaining weight, reducing your risk of diabetes and high blood pressure. Another reason to have a healthy diet is to help lower cholesterol levels and reduce your risk of some cancers.

Having a balanced diet is important but finding healthy and easy recipes can also be difficult. The Wellness Committee is challenging you to submit your healthy recipes to wellness@uwgb.edu by February 28, 2023. Bring your recipe with you to the Women’s Heart Health Luncheon and Learn on February 15th to receive a prize. Those submitted online will be put into a drawing to receive a prize.

Recipes can be meals, snacks, side dishes, desserts, etc.

Group Fitness morning and lunch hour classes are free for faculty and staff! If you prefer to attend a class in the afternoon/evening, all you have to do is purchase an unlimited membership ($60/semester or $100/year). This can be done online or at the Kress front desk.

Find Your Authentic Purpose

Purpose and wellness go hand in hand. But purpose isn’t only an idea…it’s a verb, too.

How do you not only discover your purpose, but take action to actually live it? Join Christine Whelan, Ph.D., and your fellow colleagues for an educational session on Authentic Purpose: Why it Matters and How to Make It Happen.

Dr. Whelan is a clinical professor in the Consumer Science Department of the School of Human Ecology at UW-Madison, where she is known as the “happy professor.” She teaches on topics of purpose, well-being and personal definitions of success through the life course. She’s the author of five books, including The Big Picture: A Guide to Finding Your Purpose in Life.

Instructions for using this educational session as the well-being activity towards your $150 incentive will be shared at the event.

2023 has started and you can now start thinking about earning your $150 gift card through Well Wisconsin. This year the three activities must be completed by October 13, 2023 to earn the $150 Well Wisconsin gift card.

  • Health Assessment: Complete WebMD ONE’s 10-minute questionnaire.
  • Health Check: Complete one of the following health checks
    • Biometric Screening
    • Dental Exam
    • One Coaching Session
  • Well-Being Activity: Complete one of the many activities WebMD has to offer

New in 2023 for your gift cards

Starting in 2023, you will have the option to redeem your $150 Well Wisconsin gift card VIRTUALLY, 2 to 3 business days after your three Well Wisconsin activities are marked complete. You will receive an email with instructions to redeem your gift card. If you prefer a physical gift card is mailed to your home, you can select that option and verify your mailing address. If you do not redeem your gift card within 30 days, it will automatically be sent to the address on file with your employer or ETF.
