Volunteer Opportunity: Girls on the Run

Girls on the RunGirls on the Run is a non-profit youth development program that integrates running into lessons aimed to help young girls (3rd-5th grade) lead joyful, healthy, and confident lives.  On October 7th, we would appreciate 10-12 volunteers to helps us host a water station at the Bellin Women’s Half Marathon.  This helps us spread awareness about our program and partner with an event that empowers women.  This time is 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and includes stetting up the station, distribution, and clean up.  Please contact Kathy Olson if you are interested and available at Kathy.olson@girlsontherun.org.

In this program, trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula. The 10 week program culminates with a celebration 5k event at Fox Valley Technical College on November 4th.  We have a variety of roles for volunteers between 5:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. that includes set up, registration, facilitating an activity, course marshal, finish line volunteer, finish line refreshments, and clean up.  Please contact Kathy Olson if you are interested and available at Kathy.olson@girlsontherun.org.

Assistant Director of Multimedia Services

The Assistant Director of Multimedia Services reports to the Director of Strategic Communications and oversees all video and multimedia efforts for the Green Bay Athletic Department. These videos and multimedia efforts include but are not limited to production and execution of live video broadcasts (ESPN3), creative video content for web and social usage, production of various highlight and commercial packages, oversight of temporary and student staff.

Graphic Designer (Temporary Appointment)

The temporary, approximately 8-month Graphic Designer position reports to the Director of Marketing Strategy and Advertising and is responsible for the development of creative communication materials supporting the University’s recruitment, retention and foundation initiatives. This position will work with a team to concept and design materials for use across multiple communications channels that represent the University’s activities and programs to its internal and external audiences.

The Graphic Design Specialist will conceptualize, develop and design marketing communications materials primarily for print distribution, but may also be called upon to design pieces for electronic and other forms of distribution.

As a member of the University’s design team, the Graphic Design Specialist works as a member of a creative team in a deadline-driven environment to concept and develop publications, graphic elements and projects involving institutional image—especially those relating to student recruitment (admissions), retention, fundraising, alumni relations, marketing and news/communication and assists with development of print pieces, displays, print advertising, brochures, invitations, online/banner ads, email templates and more.

Assistant Women’s Softball Coach (50%)

The Assistant Women’s Softball Coach reports to the Head Women’s Softball Coach and assists the Head Coach in directing the overall planning and execution of a Division I softball program.  It is the responsibility of the assistant coach to support the Head Coach in leading a successful softball program. The program’s success will be attained through athletic success, academic achievement, service learning, and leadership development. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the organization and administration of the Green Bay Women’s Softball program including practice and game coaching, recruiting, scouting, public relations, and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Volunteer Opportunity: AseraCare Hospice

AseraCare Hospice is looking for volunteers to help with their patients. They provide amazing hospice services to our surrounding area. One of the awesome options they give their patients besides the nursing care is the ability to have a volunteer come spend time with them. The volunteers are able to provide companionship, emotional support, vigil support, pet companionship and bereavement support. They are looking for caring souls in the area that would like to volunteer with AseraCare.

HVAC Specialist

Under the general supervision of the Building and Grounds Superintendent, the primary responsibilities of this position include the performance of HVAC preventative maintenance and repair work. This includes inspecting, maintaining, repairing, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting with minor installations of HVAC projects. This position will also maintain the campus energy power generators, above ground fuel storage tanks, and vacuum pumps.

Custodian (50%) – Open to All UW System Employees

The University of Wisconsin – Green Bay has a current vacancy for a 50% Custodian. The Custodian position at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts (WCPA) works under the general supervision of the Custodial Services Program Supervisor, and is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance of the WCPA. Position is a part-time, 50%, university staff appointment. Custodian (First Shift)

The University of Wisconsin – Green Bay has a current vacancy for a full-time, first shift Custodian in outbuildings/float. This position reports to the Custodial Services Program Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the designated work area.  Work performed in this position includes manual cleaning and maintenance of UWGB buildings.  General areas of responsibility include: cleaning offices, restrooms, classrooms, and other building areas; maintaining all floor surfaces including mopping, buffing, vacuuming, shampooing, and refinishing; cleaning windows (inside and outside); cleaning furniture; assisting with furniture, piano and equipment moves as required; stocking restrooms and custodial work areas with necessary supplies and products; waste and recycling removal; snow removal and salting of building entrances.
