Welcome Michelle Gauger

On July 25, 2018, Counseling and Health welcomed Michelle Gauger as a Counselor (75%).

For the past three years, Michelle has been employed at the Outagamie County Mental Health Outpatient Clinic. Prior to that, she was employed by Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin providing mental health and substance abuse treatment services for five years. She also has experience working as social worker in different settings which include: a hospital, crisis center, school, and community center.

Michelle enjoys volunteering for different programs in the community and attending various festivals and events in the area.

Michele enjoys traveling and spending time with her family which includes her husband, three children, and two dogs. She is originally from Sturgeon Bay. She has a Master’s degree in UW-Milwaukee in Education Psychology-Community Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UW-Stevens Point.

Volunteer Opportunity: Phoenix Friday on the Fox

After a successful celebration last year, UW-Green Bay is bringing Phoenix Friday on the Fox back! The gathering will be taking place on July 27 from 5 pm – 9 pm at CityDeck in downtown Green Bay with a performance by Big Mouth & the Power Tool Horns, the night is sure to be a fun time for all those involved.

Want to show your Phoenix pride by volunteering? Well here’s what you can do! We are looking for 4 people to help with set up from 4 pm – 5 pm. We are also looking for 2 people per hour to help man the table from 5 pm – 8 pm.

Welcome Brian Nelson

On July 16, 2018, the Athletic Department welcomed Brian Nelson as the Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Tennis. Previously, Brian worked at Seminole State College in Seminole, Oklahoma. He enjoys traveling, going to the movie theatre, and spending time with his family. He obtained an A.S. from Seminole State College in 2000, a  B.S. from East Central University in 2004, and an M.ED. from East Central University in 2018. His hometown is Hugo, Oklahoma and his family is his mom Sharon and sister Sabrina. Brian said he is “very excited to be joining the staff at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.” He is “looking forward to meeting new employees and being involved on campus.”

Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist – Advanced reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of general plumbing fixtures and components.  This position will also perform general inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of campus building structures including door locks hardware and various campus equipment.  In addition, this position performs preventative maintenance, inspections, and other seasonal activities, and is responsible for inspecting laboratory systems and equipment and making necessary installations and repairs. This position will also maintain an appropriate parts inventory, order parts when necessary and provide professional advice on the materials and time required to complete various tasks.  The Facilities Maintenance Specialist – Advanced may also direct the work of student and/or University Staff Temporary employees as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Custodian (First Shift, Open to UW System Employees Only)

The University of Wisconsin – Green Bay has a current vacancy for a full-time, first shift Custodian. This position reports to the Custodial Services Program Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the designated work area.  Work performed in this position includes manual cleaning and maintenance of UWGB buildings.  General areas of responsibility include: cleaning offices, restrooms, classrooms, and other building areas; maintaining all floor surfaces including mopping, buffing, vacuuming, shampooing, and refinishing; cleaning windows (inside and outside); cleaning furniture; assisting with furniture, piano and equipment moves as required; stocking restrooms and custodial work areas with necessary supplies and products; waste and recycling removal; snow removal and salting of building entrances.

HVAC/Refrigeration Specialist (Open to UW System Employees Only)

This position reports to Heating Plant Superintendent and assists in carrying out the mission and philosophy of the Office of Residence Life at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with others in providing services for a residential community housing 2,200 students and 2,500 summer guests residing in 29 University housing facilities.

Primary responsibilities of this position include Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC)/Refrigeration equipment troubleshooting, adjusting, modifying, inspecting, maintaining, repairing, performing preventative maintenance and assisting with major installations of HVAC/R projects. This position will also assist with the repairs of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems; and general facilities repair.

Welcome Megan Noltner and Maria Vander Heiden

The Office of Human Resources and Workforce Diversity would like to welcome Megan Noltner and Maria Vander Heiden. You may remember Megan from her temporary role back in 2017. She came back to UW-Green Bay on June 27, 2018 as a Human Resources Specialist and her responsibilities will include employee relations, policy and compliance, and serving as Title IX Co-Coordinator.

We would also like to welcome Maria Vander Heiden who started on May 29, 2018 as a Human Resources Assistant. Maria’s responsibilities will include coordinating and entering personnel transaction data in the Human Resources System (HRS), processing student paperwork, and handling various recruitment activities for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Library, Enrollment Services, Student Affairs, Continuing Education and Community Engagement. She will also coordinate exit processing, records management, volunteer coordination, and serve as a Title IX Investigator.
