Welcome Rachele Bakic

On August 13, 2018, the Provost office welcomed Rachele Bakic as the Campus Executive Officer for the Manitowoc campus.

For the past 3 years, Rachele has been the Associate Dean of Instructional Operations at Clark College. She was involved in the Leadership Clark County civic leadership program, class of 2018. She enjoys playing soccer, watching sports, hiking, kayaking, reading, and is an avid traveler.

Rachele holds a Masters of Arts in Communication from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, HI, a Bachelors in Arts in Communication, from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, and was apart of the study abroad program with Regents American British College where she traveled to London during the Spring of 2004.

Rachele has worked in higher education for more than a decade. In addition to Clark College, she has held positions at Florida State College at Jacksonville, Jacksonville University and the College of Saint Rose.

Volunteer Opportunity: Community Day

Feel like Gathering? You’re in luck! The Gathering Place is hosting their sixth annual Community Day on August 23. Volunteers are needed to help with food service, food prep, and clean up on the day of. Shifts consist of 3:00-5:00 PM for food prep and 5:00-7:00 PM for food service and clean up. Welcome Lynn Brandt

On August 1, 2018, the Admissions office welcomed Lynn Brandt as an Admissions Counselor.

Prior to coming to UW-Green Bay, Lynn worked for UW Colleges for 2 years. Lynn enjoys volunteering at Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary. She loves to travel and her goal is to travel to all 50 states. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Lynn has a Bachelors degree from UW-Green Bay and a Masters degree in Counselor Education from UW-Oshkosh. Her hometown is Sheboygan, WI and she is married with three children, and one grandson with another due in December.

Lynn has previously worked at UW-Green Bay and looks forward to assisting with the growth in enrollment at not only the main campus, but also the three new branch campuses in Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Marinette.

Welcome Jennifer Williamson-Mendez

On July 29, 2018, the Provost office welcomed Jennifer Williamson-Mendez as the Campus Executive Officer for the Sheboygan campus.

For the past four years, Jennifer was the UW-Platteville Director of Career and Professional Development. She likes to be active in Community Leadership Academy and volunteer at the local food pantry. She enjoys boating, fishing, camping, golfing, bowling, travel, and spending time with her family.

Jennifer has an Ed.D. from Northeastern University in Higher Education Administration, a Masters in Organizational and Management, and a Bachelors in Communication Technologies Management. Her home town is Reedsburg, WI and she has a husband Rudy and three teenagers – Gavin, Annie, and Aurora.

Welcome Cindy Bailey

On July 1, 2018, the Provost Office welcomed Cynthia (Cindy) Bailey as the Campus Executive Officer for the Marinette Campus. Previously, Cindy was employed with UW-Marinette nearly 21 years. She started in 1997 as the Associate Student Services Coordinator and in 2002 was named Director of Student Services. She served in that role until 2016 when she was named Regional Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management for both the UW-Marinette and UW-Marathon County campuses. During her time as Regional Associate Dean, she also served as the Campus Administrator for the UW-Marinette campus.

Cindy is involved in the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce, Education & Business Partnership, Mini-business World Chair, M&M Area community Foundation Scholarship Committee, and the Marinette Middle School Parent Teacher Partnership.

When Cindy is not working or volunteering, she loves anything and everything with adventure and activity. She loves to kayak, walk, bike ride, camp, travel, support her kid’s activities, family board game nights, and attending UW-Marinette theatre and athletic events. She also enjoys volunteering for community and school events throughout the region.

Cindy has an Associate of Arts & Science Degree from UW-Marinette, Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcasting, Advertising/Public Relations from UW-Stevens Point, and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Marian University.

Cindy’s hometown is Marinette and she is married to Tom for 20 years. They have two boys, Charlie, 14, and Henry, 12.

Cindy says, “I love the city of Marinette and our campus community. We have a great city on the Bay of Green Bay. A city that is dedicated to our residents and the land. A city that is progressive and moving forward. Our campus is a gem in the city and appreciated for helping thousands of area residents get their start on the path to a higher ed degree.”

Business Analyst

This position works under the supervision of the lead for Business Analysts on the Information Systems team and supports the implementation, enhancement and maintenance of Information Technology systems and software for the university.  This position provides technical solutions, recommendations and guidance to enhance and automate business processes using functional knowledge of business practices, technical expertise, and research and business analysis skills.

The Business Analyst will be involved in the implementation and project management of a business workflow software application (e.g. BP Logix) that will simplify and automate the flow of tasks and activities and reduce manual intervention, processing time and errors as well as improve documentation and compliance with University and UW System policies.

Position at UWGB: Coordinator of Public Services – Cofrin Library

Summary of what you do:  Supervise the public services department. We deal with checking things in and out, technology, interlibrary loan, and library spaces. I supervise 2 permanent staff and 20-ish student employees. If you ask a student at the desk to talk to a manager, you’ll probably be talking to me!

How long have you been employed: I worked temp jobs through and after college. I was a library director in Abbotsford Wisconsin for 4 years before starting at UWGB in March of 2016.

Three words that describe you: Geeky, curious, friendly

Motto or personal mantra? It’s probably fine…

What book did you read last? The Letters of JRR Tolkien

What did you want to be when growing up? A librarian. Live your dreams!

What do you like most about your job? I became a librarian because I love helping people and I love information. Ask me questions!

What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years? Nobody else is going to take responsibility for your happiness.

What is an ability you wish you had? Teleportation. It would be great to be able to visit my family and friends at any time.

Top 3 life highlights? My wedding, getting my MLIS, seeing the Tolkien archive.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work? I knit, cook, bake, play games (video and tabletop), hike, kayak, camp, sing, play ukulele and bass guitar, and occasionally record a podcast.

What is your favorite sport? Hockey

What celebrity do people think you look like? Someone once told me I looked like Jennifer Lawrence. I’m fairly skeptical of that.

What children’s character can you relate with most? Why? Moomin from the books by Tove Jansson. He just wants to live in peace, plant potatoes, and dream.

Where is your favorite place to eat? Kavarna.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten? I enjoy eating salmiakki. It’s salty black licorice. Yum!

What’s your favorite thing to do in Green Bay? I love going to the Saturday farmer’s market with my friends.

What is your favorite meal? I once made rosemary garlic venison tenderloin with pan sauce, roasted asparagus, and morel risotto. That was pretty good.

Best vacation you’ve been to? Visiting my brother and his family in Vancouver

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation? Finland
