Welcome Jason Spain!

On January 14, 2019, Jason Spain started as the new Head Women’s Soccer Coach in Athletics.

Jason comes to UW-Green Bay from Minot State University where he coached for the last 9 years. In his free time Jason likes to coach youth soccer and play strategy board games.

He holds a B.S. in History and is originally from Sutter, California. He has a wife Catherine and six children.

Foundation Accountant

This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance and is responsible for preparing and maintaining accounting and financial records for private funds; preparing ledger adjustments and reconciliations for campus receipts and disbursements, including monthly and annual adjusting and closing entries; and developing a variety of financial statements.  This position also distributes earnings and fees among restricted Foundation accounts according to policies and procedure set by the Foundation Board.

This position works in collaboration with University Accounting and University Advancement staff to help ensure accurate, reliable and timely processing of private dollar transactions.  The Foundation Accountant interfaces with the Foundation’s Finance Committee (Board members), outside accounting firm, and financial institutions.

Technician

This position reports to the Technology Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for providing support, including leading, projects pertaining to network/fiber cabling, security cameras, network switches, wireless access points, voice over IP (VoIP) phones, battery backups (UPS) and other related network and telecommunication equipment.  This position also provides assistance with installing classroom control system, A/V systems, media equipment, and distance education classrooms.

Executive Director of Advancement

This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Advancement and identifies, qualifies, cultivates and solicits individuals and organizations for philanthropic support of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB). The Executive Director builds relationships, solicits and secures gifts and pledges, and provides regular stewardship of donors and their gifts. The Executive Director raises funds in support of the University and its academic programs, departments, services, special initiatives, facilities, students, faculty and staff. The Executive Director may supervise advancement support staff in donor relations, gift processing, information technology, and alumni relations.

Admissions Counselor

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions for Recruitment and implements a comprehensive recruitment plan designed to enrich the campus community by attracting and enrolling a diverse student body. Recruit students and provide support for prospects as they progress through the admissions process. Advise on academic planning, programs, requirements, and campus resources. Coordinate and attend recruitment events to increase brand awareness and to build a diverse recruitment pipeline. Assist in identifying, communicating, and implementing vital recruitment strategies targeting diverse populations, in an effort to enhance and grow the University’s student body. Recruit and serve within the local community, while creating and implementing outreach programs targeted toward all students of color. Work to enhance UW-Green Bay’s recruitment efforts and create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs and cultural backgrounds.

Welcome Carrie Schultz!

On January 7, 2019, the Controller’s Office welcomed Carrie Schultz as a Financial Specialist Senior.

Carrie has been working with her husband at Schultz Trucking, LLC since its inception near the end of 1999. She attends to the office and bookkeeping duties while her husband maintains the driving role.

Carrie tries to be involved in the community whenever she can either assisting her daughter’s coaches at practices and helping out with selling concessions. She is a plasma donor at Biolife. She enjoys helping those who need valuable injections of healthy plasma so they can lead more productive lives. She also has been handing out water during the Bellin Run.

Ford Mustangs are Carrie’s passion. She currently drives a 2005 Roush Mustang and her family is restoring a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang. She lives outdoor activities and we can find her at the ballpark in the summer, at the gun club watching trap, and sitting in the bleachers watching the dance team perform as well cheering on the basketball team. She also likes to ski, snowmobile, and enjoy walks with her dog, Lady.

Carrie has an Associate’s degree from NWTC. While leaving the work force to raise her kids, she decided to go to UWGB to obtain a Bachelor’s in Applied Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She received her degree in 2010 and graduated Cum Laude. She still felt compelled to complete a degree in Accounting so she applied to Lakeland University. She has 5 courses to complete her Bachelor’s degree and hopes to obtain that within a few years.

Carrie was born and raised in Wayside, WI and is currently living in the country outside of Denmark. She is married to her husband, Brian for 20 years. They have three children, Heather, 18, who is a Senior at Denmark High School, Dylan, 16, a sophomore at Denmark High School, and Ashlyn, 13, a 7th grader at Denmark Middle School. They have a dog, three cats, a chameleon, and a few tropical fish.

Welcome Paul Derenne!

On January 7, 2019, the Facilities Management and Planning department welcomed Paul Derenne as a HVAC Specialist.

Paul comes to UWGB from Sodexo where he worked for 9 years. He is an Elder at St. John’s in Luxemburg.

In his free time, Paul can be found at his kids sporting events or following the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers.

Paul went to school at Western Wisconsin Technical College. He is from Casco, WI and is married to his wife, Heather. They have four children Cameron, Will, Christian, and Hannah.

Client Services Manager

This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Information Technology & Library Services / CIO and is responsible for supporting the university community in their use of computer technologies and application software. Working collaboratively with the other teams within the IT Division this position provides seamless technology services for faculty, staff and students in support of the UW-Green Bay mission and vision. This position oversees the operational and personnel activities for the following services: IT Service Desk, computer labs, lab printing, and workstation inventory (including acquisition, and disposal). The Client Services Manager leads a team of academic staff, university staff, and student employees, and serves on the Information Technology Division Leadership Team.

Desktop Administrator

This position reports to the Manager of Network Services and is responsible for all aspects of Windows desktop development, utilizing Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Server (SCCM) and VMWare Horizon View.  Additionally, this position provides Active Directory and Group Policy administration as well as enterprise application support.
