Samantha Anderson-1Samantha Anderson was welcomed on April 17, 2017, as a University Services Program Associate for Continuing Education and Community Engagement.  She obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from UW-Oshkosh.

Samantha is a member of Every Body’s Yoga Studio and enjoys hiking, reading, and coffee.  She is married to her husband Drew, and recently moved back to Wisconsin from Arizona, after living there for over two years.  She is originally from New London, Wisconsin.

Welcome Mary Kujawa!

On January 9, 2017, Mary Kujawa was hired as a Financial Specialist Senior in Facilities Planning & Management. Prior to her current role, she worked for Marathon County for 8 years.

Mary received her Associate Degree in Business, with a major in Accounting. She is actively involved with Bundles of Joy and church picnics. She also enjoys walking, reading, and traveling.

Mary has been married to her husband Tom for 39 years and has two daughters. Lindsay is a theatre/education 2012 graduate of UWGB and is married and living in Seattle. She is working at Intiman Theatre and operates her own theatre education consulting company. Mandy started with UWGB and completed her education at UW-Madison. She is employed as a Communications and Marketing Assistant at the University of Colorado. Mary also has a little dog, a Shorkiepoo named Oliver.

Mary is from Weston, Wisconsin.

Wellness webinars highlighting various health and well-being topics will take place the 3rd Wednesday of each month. All webinars will be recorded and available to Well Wisconsin Program participants on the wellness portal after the event date.

To access the wellness portal, you must be an employee, retiree, or enrolled spouse/domestic partner enrolled in the State of Wisconsin or Wisconsin Public Employers Group Health Insurance Program.

LawRoom Training Reminders every Wednesday

The university has rolled out two courses through our contracted training vendor, LawRoom, including Intersections: Harassment Prevention Training  and Checkpoint: Data Security & Privacy. Employees who have not yet completed these courses will receive a weekly reminder e-mail on Wednesdays informing them of course non-completion.  New employees will also be enrolled in the course EDU: Protect Children relating to Executive Order 54 and this campus policy. As soon as courses are completed no further reminders will be issued.

Arboretum Poker Walk Challenge Results

Title

Thirty-three employees participated in the five-week Arboretum Poker Walk Challenge this spring, and enjoyed refreshing exercise on UW-Green Bay’s scenic arboretum trails.  Whether they enjoyed a reinvigorating walk and conversation with co-workers over their lunch hour, or took a peacful stroll after work, they were able to tear off a strip of paper at a trail kiosk to redeam at the Kress Events Center or Human Resources front desk for a playing card.

Twenty-seven employees collected a full hand of playing cards, and the top three poker hands were collected by Sara Chaloupka (best hand), Amanda Wildenberg (2nd best hand), and Tina Tackmier (3rd best hand)!

All participants were entered in to a random drawing, and the following people were selected to pick out a prize:

New Academic & University Staff Handbook

In an effort to streamline and create a more cohesive document for employees, Human Resources has worked with Academic and University Staff Governance representatives over the past year to refine and create an updated Employee Handbook for all Academic and University Staff Employees. The updated UW-Green Bay Employee Handbook for Academic and University Staff contains helpful information for all employees, including referential policies, campus information, and various resources.

Please review and become familiar with the information contained within this handbook.  Upon full review, please print, sign, and return a copy of the final page in this handbook- the Employee Acknowledgement to Human Resources.  All employees are requested to complete this review and submit an employee handbook acknowledgement no later than Friday, June 23.

Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist – Advanced reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of general plumbing fixtures and components.  This position will also perform general inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of campus building structures and equipment, laboratory systems and equipment and making necessary installations and repairs. This position will also maintain an appropriate parts inventory, order parts when necessary and provide professional advice on the materials and time required to complete various tasks.  The Facilities Maintenance Specialist – Advanced may also direct the work of student and/or University Staff Temporary employees.

Dietetic Internship Director (Open to UW System Employees Only)

This position reports to the Department Chair of the Human Biology department and is responsible for the overall management, including day-to-day implementation of the dietetic internship program. The program director leads the assessment, planning, and evaluation of the dietetic internship to meet the requirements set by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition & Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. In addition, this position will teach one course per academic year for the Human Biology department.
