Chief of Staff – Athletics

The UW-Green Bay Phoenix Intercollegiate Athletics Department seeks an energetic and dynamic Chief of Staff to support the Director of Athletics.  This position serves as a key relationship-builder for a vibrant Division I Athletics program.  Applicants with successful experience in event planning, customer service, and office management are highly encouraged to apply.

Reporting directly to the Director of Athletics, the Chief of Staff position provides full oversight of athletics office operations as well as administrative and organizational support to the Director of Athletics.  This position acts as a liaison between the Director of Athletics and others within the department, and serves as a source of information and coordination to offices across campus and externally.  The Chief of Staff plans and executes events in conjunction with development or as the sole coordinator, and serves as host for several events.  This position interacts with high-level University officials, community stakeholders, and donors regarding their relationship with the University and the Director of Athletics, and assists the Director of Athletics in maintaining and managing existing stakeholder relationships as well as creating and fostering the growth of new relationships.

Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Director

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Director reports to the Dean of Continuing Education, and is responsible for the daily and long-term operations of the Wisconsin SBDC at UW-Green Bay by providing an integrated and cohesive array of business programs and business counseling (consulting, advising) services to emerging and existing entrepreneurs in an 11+ county service area.  This position provides overall planning, administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Center’s services to prospective entrepreneurs and small-business owners and managers in the Center’s service area. The SBDC Director, working collaboratively with the statewide Wisconsin SBDC Network, is also responsible for the local administration of certain federal and state economic development programs sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Department of Business and Entrepreneurship (DBE) at UW-Extension. The Wisconsin SBDC at UW-Green Bay director is responsible for meeting performance metrics as specified by the organization’s funding sources, including the U.S. Small Business Administration and the DBE unit of UW-Extension.

Payroll and Benefits Specialist (80%) – Open to UW System Employees Only

Under general direction of the Payroll & Benefits Supervisor, this position performs complex payroll and benefits functions for UW-Green Bay’s Human Resources Office.  This position is responsible for interpreting and applying a wide variety of payroll and benefit rules and regulations affecting approximately 350 permanent and temporary university staff employees, and around 600 student employees.  Primary  payroll duties include processing the university staff and student bi-weekly payroll.  Primary benefits duties include advising university staff regarding the University benefit package and provisions, providing benefit counseling to new hires, exiting employees, and employees with life changes according to UW System, Wisconsin Retirement System, and Employee Trust Fund (ETF) policies and procedures.  In addition, this position assists with information technology and reporting for the office of Human Resources.

Academic Department Associate

Under the general supervision of the Student Services Specialist in Nursing, this position serves as the department’s initial informational point of contact with faculty, administrators, students, and organizations outside of the University.

Under general supervision of the Bookstore Director, the Textbook Department Manager is accountable for all functions in the textbook department of the bookstore.  This position will collaborate with faculty to obtain book requirements for courses, coordinate the purchase of course materials for resale, pricing, display, and inventory control, and oversee the return of unsold inventory to vendors. This position is also responsible for maintaining awareness of enrollment to properly adjust course material order.
