Student employee hours limit changes to 40 hours March 15 – 21

Just a reminder that the student employee hours limit will change to 40 hours per week for the week of March 15 to 21, 2020.  The hours limit is in place to make sure we are in compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).  The 25 hours per week limit will resume March 22, 2020 through May 16, 2020.

Preparing for Your WRS Retirement

** UPDATE: All in-person, individual, and group retirement appointments will be switched to online or over-the-phone appointments, effective March 16.**

Any employee considering retirement within the next 12 months or any employee within 1 year of minimum retirement age or above (age 50 for protective category employees or age 55 for all other categories), please review the following information.

Are you considering retiring in the near future and meet the qualifications for a WRS retirement benefit? The Department of Employee Trust Funds wants to help! If you are a WRS member nearing retirement, please join us for a group retirement appointment.

Don’t Wait, Hydrate Challenge

 

The Don’t Wait, Hydrate! Challenge is about making sure you get the healthy fluids you need while avoiding the ones you don’t, like sodas and energy drinks.  So, pour yourself into better health and join the challenge!

  • Starts March 1, 2020
  • Drink at least 8 cups (64 ounces) of water or other healthy fluids for 21 days during the month of March
  • Record your progress at wellwisconsin.staywell.com
  • Complete the challenge to earn credit toward your 2020 Well Wisconsin incentive.

Reminder that all UW-Green Bay employees have FREE access to the Kress Events Center during the following times. This includes access to the fitness center, group fitness classes, pool, gyms, and racquetball courts. If you prefer to stop by after 2 pm on weekdays you can enroll in payroll deduction for an unlimited membership ($100/year or $60/semester).

Manager of Union Services

This position reports to the University Union Director and is a member of the Union leadership team. The Manager of Union Services is responsible for the Union’s services and related activities including the Phoenix Club. This includes all venue-based events and the support of campus-wide programming efforts. The Manager of Union Services will also have oversight of the department’s marketing and assessment areas as well as coordination of the student employment program. This position will work to create a safe and inclusive environment for all UW Green Bay students where all feel a sense of place and pride.

Associate Director of Residence Life

This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor, and assists in carrying out the mission and philosophy of the Office of Residence Life. The Office of Residence Life provides housing for 2,000 students during the academic year and more than 2,000 guests during the summer months; and employs approximately 13 full-time staff and 100 student employees. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: a) departmental leadership; b) supervision; c) community development; d) recruitment and training; and e) supplemental responsibilities. The Associate Director works to create an intentionally inclusive residential community where all students matter.

Advising and Recruitment Specialist (Manitowoc Campus)

This position reports to the Director of Advising and promotes and supports the philosophy and mission of the Enrollment Services Division, and works at the Manitowoc campus. In support of the University’s enrollment, retention and graduation goals, establishes and administers programs for recruiting students to University undergraduate programs. Independently represents the institution to targeted constituencies and/or territories. Develops and maintains relationships with identified partners within the institution and community. Strategizes on opportunities to enhance recruitment efforts and implements identified strategies. Supports Enrollment Services Division and university-wide initiatives related to the student learning experience and academic success. Advises students on academic programs and requirements relevant to their academic and career development.

Clubhouse Coordinator

This position reports to the Golf Course General Manager, and is responsible for monitoring pro shop staff, stocking and selling product, making reservations, and assisting golfers while managing the shop. This position is also responsible for assistance in the Shorewood Clubhouse Kitchen and Bar as a licensed bartender. Position is a University Staff Temporary appointment, to work between 3/1/20 and 12/31/20.  The work hours for this position will be 4:00 to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday as well as some weekend hours.

Time to register for your onsite health screening!

Three free health screening* events have been scheduled at UW-Green Bay for employees (and spouses) who are enrolled in the State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program.

These events are scheduled:

  • Friday, September 18, 2020 at 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
    • Sheboygan Campus – Wombat Room # 2114

At an onsite screening, you’ll learn your measurements for blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), cholesterol (HDL, LDL and total), triglycerides and glucose, and be in and out in 20 minutes. Register today!

Wait – the StayWell website is new this year – do I need to create a new log in?  Yes – please see this blog post for details.

After logging in, you will see your StayWell dashboard.  In the middle right side, click on the arrows to scroll to the Quest Diagnostics information and click SCHEDULE NOW.  At the Location screen, search for UW Green Bay or select another screening location that is close to you (you don’t have to do the screening at the Green Bay campus – there are many screening locations throughout the state available).

Earn your $150 Well Wisconsin Incentive

Complete three activities by October 9, 2020, to earn the $150 Well Wisconsin incentive.

1. Get a health screening*

Attend an employer sponsored event or if you see your health care provider, complete the Health Care Provider Form, available at wellwisconsin.staywell.com – click on Resources > State of Wisconsin > Health Care Provider Form.

 2. Complete the StayWell health assessment*

This online questionnaire takes about 10 minutes and is mobile and tablet friendly!  Find it on the StayWell websiteclick on My Incentives in the top menu bar and then Health Assessment.

3. Complete a Well-Being Activity through StayWell.

*The Well Wisconsin incentive program is a voluntary program available to employees, retirees and spouses enrolled in the State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program, excluding Medicare Advantage participants who have incentives available through their health plan. The Well Wisconsin incentive will automatically be issued to eligible participants upon completing the applicable activities. All wellness incentives paid to participants are considered taxable income to the group health plan subscriber and are reported to their employer, who will issue a W2. In some cases, the Wisconsin Retirement System acts as the employer. Retirees, continuants and their spouses will have some taxes withheld from the incentive amount earned.
