Dietetic Internship Director

This position reports to the Human Biology Department Chair and is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the Dietetic Internship (DI) Program. The DI Director leads the assessment, planning, and evaluation of the program to meet the requirements set by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The successful candidate will also teach one course per academic year for the Human Biology Department. This position is an academic year position, working mid-August through mid-May. This position also include one month of summer work associated with program coordination duties.

Supervisory Leadership Certificate Program

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is pleased to continue a certification opportunity for UW-Green Bay supervisors. The Supervisory Leadership Certificate Program for UW-Green Bay supervisors is a collaboration between the Small Business Development Center and UW-Green Bay Human Resources. The program is designed to help supervisors build leadership skills, invest in their employees and advance their department. Participants will have three years to complete the program, and can select elective topics that meet their needs and move their careers forward. Each semester, five supervisors will be selected to begin this program.

Approximately $500 in expenses for course materials and other items will be charged to the department. Supervisors are encouraged to discuss the cost with Division Heads/ Area Leaders if funding is a barrier to participation.

To earn the UW-Green Bay Supervisory Leadership Certificate participants must:

• Complete two core courses

• Complete eight one-day elective courses (a two-day elective counts as two one-day electives)

If interested in being considered for this program, please complete the top section of the Interest Form and forward electronically to your supervisor.  Next level supervisors should review and complete their portion of the form, and forward to the Area Leader no later than August 24th.  Forms will be forwarded to the Position Review Committee for consideration, and decisions made on attendees will be communicated to employees and supervisors in early September.

Performance Evaluations – Non-Instructional Academic Staff and Limited Employees

Annual performance evaluations are a key component to employee performance and development.  The objectives of annual performance evaluations are to provide all employees and their supervisors an opportunity to:

  • Discuss job performance
  • Set goals for professional development
  • Establish objectives for contributing to the department’s mission
  • Discuss expectations and accomplishments
  • Discuss career progression eligibility

Non-instructional academic staff and limited employees and their supervisors should begin the performance evaluation process for the prior fiscal year (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018) as soon as possible. Please follow the procedure outlined on the Performance Evaluation Narrative Form, submitting the completed evaluation to the area leader’s office no later than Friday, August 24, 2018. Please note – An annual performance evaluation is not required for individuals hired after July 1, 2017 if a six-month evaluation has already been completed.

Part of the performance review process should be a discussion regarding changes in position responsibilities, appropriateness of the assigned title, and the eligibility towards career progression if employees are in a progression series title.

Per the UW-Green Bay Compensation and Pay Plan Policy, compensation adjustments must be based upon merit and employee performance.  Therefore, any future pay adjustments will be contingent upon satisfactory performance.

Adjunct Instructor – French

The Modern Languages program within the department of Humanities at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay seeks a part-time instructor for the Fall 2018 and/or Spring 2019 semesters in French. Depending on enrollment, this position could potentially teach the following courses:

  • FRENCH 201 Intermediate French (3 credits) and FRENCH 225 Composition and Conversation (3 credits) in the fall semester
  • FRENCH 202 Intermediate French II (3 credits) and FRENCH 325 Advanced Composition and Conversation (3 credits) in the spring semester

Pay Plan Eligibility Reminder – Deadline is June 15

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has received funding and will be implementing a pay plan, which will provide a base rate increase to all eligible employees of 4.04% in two 2% installments. Distribution of the pay plan will be as follows:

Individual e-mails were distributed this week to otherwise eligible employees who are missing either their required trainings or performance evaluations. If you did not receive an e-mail and your positon is eligible for pay plan per the Compensation and Pay Plan Policy, you will receive pay plan and no further action is needed.

 

 

Eligibility for the pay plan includes being employed prior to January 1, 2018 (with some exceptions), having an acceptable level of performance as documented during the employee’s last review period, and being compliant with all required trainingIn order to receive the pay plan increases, eligible employees must be compliant with required trainings and have documented satisfactory performance by June 15, 2018, without exception. Compliance after that date will not result in retroactive eligibility, or eligibility for the second installment of the plan.

Academic Department Associate (9-month, 75%)

The University of Wisconsin – Green Bay seeks applicants for an Academic Department Associate in the departments of Human Development and Communication & Information Science. This position is a part-time university staff appointment working approximately 30 hours per week during the academic year (August-May). This appointment is approximately 9-months, tied to the academic year with no expectation of employment during the summer months and winter break.

Associate Dean (50%) – College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (Open to UW-Green Bay Employees Only)

The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is searching for a 50% Associate Dean for the 2018-2019 academic year. The Associate Dean will assist the Dean in managing the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, including timetable and curriculum management, data collection and analysis, and campus-based communication and CAHSS representation. This position may also participate in outreach activities. This position will include a 9 credit course reassignment, and the work schedule will be built around the successful candidate’s teaching schedule.

This appointment is for approximately one year with the potential for conversion into an ongoing, paid position the following year.

K-12 Relations Outreach Specialist

This position reports to the Director of K-12 Relations and will be primarily responsible for working in collaboration with the Director of K-12 Relations to manage aspects of the College Credit in High School (CCIHS), Education Outreach and additional programming in K-12 Relations. The individual will assist in the development of new innovative programming in Education Outreach and additional offerings for CCIHS throughout Wisconsin. The Outreach Specialist will oversee and manage CCIHS processes including enrollment, billing and serve as the main point of contact for program requirements. Additional responsibilities include the planning and development of the Academic Competition and Education Outreach classes.
