Department Assistant – Behavioral Health Training Partnership

We’re seeking a master multi-tasker with a mind for details, a head for numbers, and a heart for compassion—all combined with a desire to help others. As a Department Assistant in the College of Health, Education, and Social Welfare, you’ll provide the support vital for the success of your department, faculty, fellow staff, and students.

Every day may bring a fresh challenge—from establishing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with department records; to tracking departmental goals, funds, and purchasing. You’ll make a positive impact on the University’s success in ways large and small—including student support, facility coordination, and clerical support.

But the scope of this position also reaches beyond the campus to make a real impact on lives throughout our region. You’ll also be managing and event-planning professional development opportunities for the Behavioral Health Training Partnership (BHTP)— an affiliation of 67 counties and 2 tribal nations in Wisconsin—committed to providing training and supporting best practices in crisis intervention and other behavioral health services.

Responsibilities in this vital role encompass all aspects of the partnership— including supervising student employees, reconciling budgets (accounting experience is a big plus!), facilitating training sessions, coordinating of online course enrollment, marketing of department training, providing customer service, supporting registration, plus providing billing and payment services via department software. Love a challenge and making a real difference? Then we’d love to hear from you!
