Emergency Management Sergeant – Open to UW System Employees Only

This position reports to the Chief of Police and Sergeant is to be responsible for administration of the University Emergency Management program, facilitate the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), update the Emergency Plans and manage the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). Special projects include but are not limited to supervising the Community Oriented Policing program, serve as the law enforcement liaison to three branch campus locations, officer recruitment & retention, and special projects as assigned.   Due to the size of the department this position must, in addition to other duties, be capable of acting as a police officer performing all routine patrol duties to maintain shift coverage during vacancies, and also act as a patrol supervisor when needed. This position is expected to be capable of making most decisions without consulting a higher authority. Due to the emergency decision-making nature of emergency management, this position must be prepared to give immediate assistance to the public by making decisions for the University that may be only vaguely related to law enforcement. This position will be responsible for facilitating resources that support the University’s mission and goals regarding equity, diversity, and inclusion and work to enhance UW-Green Bay’s inclusive policing efforts and create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
