Data Security Training Required Annually for All Employees

University employees have access to medium and high-risk data for themselves as well as others. Maintaining the security of that data from the continuous attack by hackers is a constant threat facing our employees.

Based on University of Wisconsin System UWS Administrative Policy 1032: Information Security: Awareness, which requires all employees to complete yearly security awareness training, all employees, including student employees, are required to complete the Checkpoint: Data Security & Privacy online training by November 30, 2019.

During the first week in October, login information will be included in an email from “University of Wisconsin-Green Bay” titled “University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Online Training.”  Please ensure you check your spam folder; searching for the word “Everfi” will bring up the email if you’re having trouble locating it.

Training should be completed in Internet Explorer and will take approximately 90 minutes.  It is self-paced, allowing you to come and go as you please until course completion.  Please ensure your Internet Explorer settings are set to open more than one window at the same time.  You may do so by checking the following setting:

Once the training is complete, there is no need to notify HR or provide anyone with the optional printable certificate.  Completion information is tracked within the system.

Please note, those who have taken the training on or after August 19, 2019, will not be required to retake the training this year and will not receive an email requesting completion.

Please contact Human Resources at hr@uwgb.edu or (920) 465-2390 with any questions and/or to request a reasonable accommodation.
