This position reports to the Grounds Supervisor and performs groundskeeping duties to maintain, renovate, and improve the campus landscape and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include care, pruning, fertilizing, mowing, and maintenance of turf, woody plants, and trees on the campus. Assist in asphalt repairs on campus roads, trails, and parking lots. This position must safely operate all grounds related equipment, turf equipment, and snow removal equipment and possess skills to perform general maintenance, and assist grounds mechanics in repairs of all types of equipment, trucks, and cars. Knowledge and safe operating skills of different types and sizes of chainsaws is required. This position requires knowledge of best pest management practices, and the ability to safely apply pesticides, and herbicides. Other responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, assist with training, and direction of 8-10 part time employees, including students, volunteers, and University Staff Temporary employees.
