CST, Mark Norfleet, NAS, Natural and Applied Sciences-2Mark Norfleet was hired on August 21, 2017, as an Assistant Professor in Mathematics for the Department of Natural & Applied Sciences.  Mark earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin, his M.S. in Mathematics from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his B.S. in Mathematics from Kansas State University.

Mark spent the past two years as a visiting Assistant Professor at Emory University.  He plays the double bass and enjoys playing jazz and classical music.  He also enjoys finding symmetries in nature and art, since it brings to life many aspects of his mathematical research.

Mark is from Wichita, Kansas.

Volunteer Opportunity: AseraCare Hospice

Asera Care Hospice

 

 

AseraCare Hospice is looking for volunteers to help with their patients. They provide amazing hospice services to our surrounding area. One of the awesome options they give their patients besides the nursing care is the ability to have a volunteer come spend time with them. The volunteers are able to provide companionship, emotional support, vigil support, pet companionship and bereavement support. They are looking for caring souls in the area that would like to volunteer with AseraCare.

HVAC Specialist

Under the general supervision of the Building and Grounds Superintendent, the primary responsibilities of this position include the performance of HVAC preventative maintenance and repair work. This includes inspecting, maintaining, repairing, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting with minor installations of HVAC projects. This position will also maintain the campus energy power generators, above ground fuel storage tanks, and vacuum pumps.

Congratulations Laura Rowell!

Laura Rowell-11Starting August 21, 2017, Laura Rowell will transition into the ongoing position of Director in the Dietetic Internship Department.  She has been working on campus in several different roles, including Lecturer, Instructional Program Manager II, and Teaching Supervisor since August 2013.

Laura has an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelors in Dietetics from Mount Mary University.  She is an active Life Church member and Xperience Fitness Instructor.

Laura has a husband Andy and 3 boys ages 8, 5, and 3.  She is from Lena, Wisconsin.

Megan Noltner joins Human Resources team

The Human Resources Office is pleased to announce that Megan Noltner will be joining our team on Monday, August 21st in a temporary appointment as a Payroll & Benefits Specialist this fall while Kimberly Sipiorski is on maternity leave.  Megan will assist with advising employees on their benefits during the Annual Benefits Enrollment period, processing payroll, and will help with other human resource related projects.  Megan earned her bachelor degree from UW-Stout and has over three years of human resources experience.  Her most recent position was an Assistant Director of Human Resources for Marcus Hotels & Resorts in Milwaukee.  Megan and her family recently relocated back home, and we are excited that she will be joining our team.  Please join us in welcoming Megan to UW-Green Bay!

Assistant Professor – Mechanical Engineering Technology

The department of Natural and Applied Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Lead course and curriculum development and collaborate with participating NEW North institutions in the start-up phase of a new mechanical engineering technology program.
  • Teach lower and upper-level courses in mechanical engineering technology.
  • Develop a strong research program involving collaboration with students and faculty.
  • Advise students.
  • Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
  • Perform institutional service and contribute to the ongoing programmatic development of the  department.

In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to a demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship, commitment to undergraduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work with a diverse array of program partners.

Time: 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Complete two easy steps by October 20, 2017 to earn the $150* Well Wisconsin incentive:

STEP 1: Get your 2017 health screening** – log in to wellwisconsin.staywell.com and click the Programs tab to register for this event.

  • You’ll be in and out in 20 minutes
  • Screening includes measurements for blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), cholesterol (HDL, LDL and Total), triglycerides and glucose
  • Fasting is not required, but is highly recommended for more accurate results
  • Screening completion will be displayed in the StayWell wellness portal within two business days. Your results will be automatically uploaded to your profile within 10 business days
  • On-site health screenings are confidential, free and voluntary

STEP 2: Complete the StayWell health assessment** at wellwisconsin.staywell.com

It takes about 10 minutes and is mobile and tablet friendly!

NOTE: You must register ahead of time for this health screening – they do not allow walk-ins that day.

If you already completed your health screening this past April, you do not need to complete it again in 2017.  There will be another on-site screening event in April 2018, for the 2018 Well Wisconsin incentive.

9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

Join local firefighters, students, faculty and staff in memory of the brave souls who lost their lives the day of the attack.  Share your thoughts and memories of the day we swore as a nation to never forget as we climb the stairs of the Cofrin Library in respect to the fallen.

When: Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11 am – 1 pm

Where: Cofrin Library – 2nd to 8th floor stairwell

Vets 4 Vets and Public Safety representatives will be on hand, and there will be military, firefighter, and police related items/memorabilia on display at the plaza area of the library’s second floor.  Representatives from the Wellness Committee will be handing out flag pins to the first 50 people who climb to the 8th floor.
