Fuel Your Inner Phoenix: Health and Wellness Event

It’s summer…the perfect time to re-calibrate, re-focus, and (re)fuel your inner Phoenix!

All employees are invited to a free Health & Wellness Event on Thursday, May 30 at the Kress Events Center. Featured speakers include Stephanie Schultz from Festival Foods and UWGB student health/wellness expert Alex Stenner. Attendees can mix it up in breakout sessions on yoga, zumba, how to get the right golf swing, and the “Game Day” experience at Kress. A vendor fair will feature local businesses and organizations with door prizes for attendees!

You need not stay for the whole day. Attend a break out session, hear our speakers, or stay for lunch! If you plan on attending (even for a just a session or two), please register online.

Join UWGB student and budding health/nutrition expert Alex Stenner as he helps us to engage different perspectives, utilize research, and ask the right questions. This talk will give you some answers to the major question: Wellness – Why not?

Step into Spring Challenge Update

Thank you for participating in the Step into Spring Challenge!  As we are halfway through the competition, we wanted to send some updates and information pertaining to the teams.

We have 20 employee teams and 5 student teams signed up for the challenge.

As of today, with the activities that have been entered in the American Heart Association MyStart Activity Tracker, here are the 5 leading teams:

Make sure you are logging your activities through the MyStart Activity Tracker in order to be counted towards team totals.  All activities will need to be entered by May 1, 2013 in order to be included in the final count towards the grand prize.

The State of Wisconsin health insurance plans are all offering Health Risk Assessments this year as a wellness initiative. By completing  a Health Risk Assessment (online questionnaire and a biometric screening) you are given results and tools to help you understand and potentially improve your health.  We can always work to improve the quality of our lives through health and wellness!

For United HealthCare NE, the biometric screening will consist of:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Body Mass Index
  • Glucose (Fingerstick)
  • Cholesterol Level (Fingerstick)

*For best results, it is recommended that the tests are taken under fasting conditions (no food for 12 hours prior to tests).

United HealthCare NE is offering a $75 gift card incentive for completing the Health Risk Assessment.
