Join UW-Green Bay’s corporate team directed by UWGB Kress Center Zumba instructor Kristy Aoki and Fitness Coordinator Chrisanna Colletta on September 14th at 2:00 p.m. as the City of Green Bay attempts to break the world record for the largest Zumba class. The world record Zumba class event will last about 30 minutes followed by more Zumba fun! What: 9/11 Remembrance “Walk the Stairs” Event
When: Wednesday, September 11, 2013
Any time between 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: 2ndFloor Atrium – Cofrin Library
Participants will walk the stairs of the library floors 2 through 8 to honor and pay tribute to the victims, families and service members effected by the tragic events of 9/11/2001.

  • Each step taken represents 48 seconds the building stood burning
  • For each step taken, 20 people lost their lives in the twin towers
  • 16 US soldiers were killed in Operation Enduring Freedom

Join us to pay tribute and show your support! United we stand.

The Wellness Committee and UW-Green Bay Vets4Vets will sponsor a fruit and yogurt bar at the conclusion of the walk for the first 50 participants.

Festivities begin at 8:30am
Walk Starts at 9:30am
Location: Northeast Wisconsin Technical College
1-Mile and 3-Mile Routes
  • Families welcomed and encouraged
  • Feel free to bring your pets as they are great exercise companions
  • No entry fee to participate, we do ask and encourage walkers to raise money or make a donation
  • All survivors will be honored with a special (free) Red hat (heart survivors) or White hat (stroke survivors) and commemorative pin
  • Anyone who raises over $100 will receive a free t-shirt

Didn’t bring a dish? Don’t worry! For a small donation, the SLO Food Alliance will be offering organic “pick-your-own” salad (featuring assorted lettuces, spinach, arugula, kale, baby bok choi, and various herbs) from the campus garden in the student services plaza.  The group will also be offering pick and bag produce sales.

Looking for a way to get active and enjoy a little time away from the office, exploring the beautiful scenery on our campus?  Join Student Fitness Coordinator, Elizabeth Brandt and other campus participants, as they Hit the Trails Every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. for a self-paced walk/jog/run. Contact Chrisanna Colletta to join the mailing list for updates on the walks and weather cancellations.

Don’t forget about the unlimited Kress Events Center access over the summer! In addition to the free unlimited access during the summer hours noted below, there are also various free group fitness classes offered.

All employees are invited to a free Health & Wellness Event on Thursday, May 30 at the Kress Events Center. Featured speakers include Stephanie Schultz from Festival Foods and UWGB student health/wellness expert Alex Stenner. Attendees can mix it up in breakout sessions on yoga, zumba, how to get the right golf swing, and the “Game Day” experience at Kress. A vendor fair will feature local businesses and organizations with door prizes for attendees!

You need not stay for the whole day. Attend a break out session, hear our speakers, or stay for lunch! If you plan on attending (even for a just a session or two), please register online.
