On January 5, 2018, MD Riaz U Ahmed started as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering for the Natural and Applied Sciences Department.  Riaz was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of South Carolina and an Assistant Professor at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in Bangladesh.

Riaz has a Ph.D. and MS from the University of South Carolina and his BS from KUET.  He enjoys traveling and playing games, especially cricket, soccer, chess, and badminton.  Riaz loves teaching and having a friendly relationship with everyone around him!

He is married and has 2-1/2-year-old daughter.  His hometown is Noakhali, Bangladesh.

On January 2, 2018, Residence Life welcomed Mindy Sackett as a new Area Coordinator. Prior to coming to UWGB, she was the Residence Life Coordinator at the University of California-Irvine for 5 years.  She had also worked as a Coordinator of Student Development at Cal Poly for 3 years and did 2 stints with Semester at Seas as a Resident Director.

Mindy has a BS in Biology and Secondary Education from UW-Stevens Point and an MA in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University.  She loves visiting coffee shops, live music, movies/film festivals, volleyball, gardening, researching family history, and traveling.  She has been to 35 countries and 6 out of 7 continents!

Mindy is from Lakewood, Wisconsin.  She has a 16-year-old cat named Kobe.

On December 11, 2017, Facilities Management welcomed Robert Snell as an HVAC Refrigeration Specialist.

On December 11, 2017, Continuing Education & Community Engagement welcomed Ericka Bloch as a University Services Program Associate.  Ericka previously worked for Harmann Studios and is a UWGB graduate.  She volunteers at the Green Bay Botanical Garden and enjoys hula hooping, hiking, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.

Ericka is a sponsored hula hooper and used to teach hula hooping at the Kress Center when she was in college!  She has a boyfriend and two fur babies (cats–Perry and Mojo).

Ericka is from New London, Wisconsin.

On December 1, 2017, Women’s Intercollegiate Athletics welcomed Elizabeth Murray as the new Assistant Women’s Softball Coach.

On November 29, 2017, Lorri Kornowski began as an Academic Department Associate for the Democracy and Justice Studies Department.  Prior to joining UWGB, Lorri worked for the City of Green Bay for over 2 years.  During 2014-2015, she worked in the public defender’s office for Mohave County, Arizona, and for Brown County Human Services 1994-2014.

Lorri has an Associates Degree in paralegal from NWTC.  She is a member and volunteer at Cornerstone Family Church and enjoys boating in the summer and vacationing in the winter.  She also enjoys the outdoors, live music, cooking, and fitness training.

Lorri has a son who now works in Marketing near Detroit, Michigan.  Her hometown is Green Bay.

On November 13, 2017, Morgan Theobald began as the Enrollment Services Front Desk Advisor in Student Services.  Prior to UWGB, Morgan was an Event Coordinator at PMI Entertainment Group.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from UWGB.

Morgan enjoys anything outdoors, reading, and learning.  She is from Black Creek, Wisconsin.
