Welcome Pieter deHart!

On January 6, 2020, the Provost and Vice Chancellor’s Office welcomed Pieter deHart as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Graduate Studies.

Pieter comes to us from Seattle, Washington. Pieter was previously employed at Unity College in Maine as an Academic Dean and Biology Professor and at Virginia Military Institute Pieter worked as a professor in biology department and then the Director of Undergraduate Research.

In his free time, Pieter enjoys swimming, running, aquathlon and SwimRun, cross country skiing, kayaking, taste testing chocolates and fermented foods, watching foreign films, live music, and raising dairy goats.

Pieter has a Ph.D. in Marine Biology from University of Alaska Fairbanks, a Masters Degree in Biology from Boston University, and a Bachelors Degree in Marine Biology from University of Rhode Island.

Welcome James Schramm!

On January 6, 2020, the Provost and Vice Chancellor’s Office welcomed James (Jamie) Schramm as the Campus Executive Officer for the Sheboygan Campus!

Jamie comes to us from Sheboygan, WI. Jamie was previously employed at Kohler Credit Union, Johnsonville, HUI, and Kohler Company. Jamie is involved in being a Junior Achievement Classroom volunteer, a Junior Achievement Business Challenge Coach, President of Central High School Governance Board, member of Sheboygan Area School District Business Curriculum Advisory Board, personal finance experience planning team member for Central High School, Sheboygan South High School and Howards Grove High School, member of Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Educators’ Partnership Committee, IncubatorEDU Community Champion, Lakeshore Technical College Business Management Advisory Board Member, Member of Sheboygan Veterans’ Honor Guard, and Chairperson for Sheboygan’s Memorial Day Parade.

In his free time, Jamie enjoys cooking, listening to live music performances, and basketball. Jamie is married to his wife with a two sons.

Jamie has a MBA from Lakeland University, a BA from Lake land University, and an AAS from UW-Green Bay.

Police Officer

This position reports to the Police Sergeant and is a sworn peace officer position. A police officer will provide a full range of law enforcement and security services. Police Officers will enforce laws, investigate calls, complaints and suspicious matters and incidents which may have an impact of the University, maintain order, assist people, identify criminal activity, apprehend offenders, identify the source of problems in the community and work with the community to resolve issues. The police officer will support the department’s mission by providing essential functions while respecting the rights and dignity of all individuals and taking pride in all we do.

Call for Nominations for Student Employee of the Year

Now’s a great time to nominate for Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY)!

The Student Employment Office is seeking nominations for the 2020 SEOTY competition.  Take advantage of the break between semesters to submit a nomination for your outstanding student employee.  The National Student Employment Association adjusted selection criteria for the program, so the form has changed from past years.  Nominees will now be evaluated according to eight career readiness competencies the National Association of Colleges and Employers identified (communication, digital technology, problem solving, professionalism/work ethic, intercultural fluency, career management, leadership, and teamwork).  A special ceremony to recognize nominees and award winners will be held April 13, 2020.  Submissions are due February 14, 2020.  Please contact Allen Voelker (Student Employment and Scholarship Coordinator) at voelkera@uwgb.edu or 920-465-2556 with any questions.
