This position reports to the Executive Director, Early College Programs and delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. Assists with tracking and managing the outreach program budget.
The GEAR UP Services Specialist coordinates educational programs for 6th-12th grade students enrolled in the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEAR UP). As the higher education partner, UW-Green Bay works with the Department of Public Instruction’s Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Program (WEOP) to identify programming for students including dual enrollment, digital badging and other educational programs that support GEAR UP goals. The GEAR UP Services Specialist works closely with the Executive Director of Early College Programs to track program enrollment data and create detailed reports reflecting services provided and budget expenditures. This position calls for a highly organized, flexible, and self-directed individual with excellent communication skills. This one year-100% position is funded through the UW-Green Bay partnership with the state GEAR UP program and is renewed on an annual basis upon continuance of funding and satisfactory performance. The GEAR UP grant is a 7-year, renewable grant with funding through 2026.
