As the city of Green Bay continues to prepare for the upcoming NFL draft, which will be held in Green Bay on April 24-26, 2025, we wanted to take a moment to address a few questions that have come up regarding this topic. In accordance with the Office Hours and Institutional Closures Policy (HR 14-17-3), the Chancellor is the only authorized official who may adjust hours or office closures based upon operational needs. At this time:
· No classes will be held on April 24-27, however, the campus will remain open, and operations are expected continue as usual.
· Employees looking to adjust their work schedule the week of April 21-25 will need to work with their supervisors in advance for proper approval since it’s a busy time of the semester. Alternative work arrangements (i.e. remote work, flexible work schedule) may be acceptable based upon the employee’s job functions but are not guaranteed since supervisors will need to take into account the department’s operational needs when considering alternative work arrangements.
· Employees interested in volunteering or working at the NFL Draft and/or taking time off during the week of April 21-25, contingent upon advance approval from their supervisor, will need to utilize paid leave (vacation, personal holiday, floating legal holiday) for any time off during their regular work schedule.
The University recognizes hosting the NFL draft is a unique opportunity for the greater Green Bay community and continues to look for ways to support the community during this time. Please reach out to the Office of Human Resources at hr@uwgb.edu if there are further questions related to alternative work arrangements or leave usage.
