The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and the Humanistic Studies department seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in English Composition. Contingent upon election by faculty, the successful candidate will direct the English Composition Program and the Writing Center.
Applicants with a demonstrated potential for writing program administration, the ability to work with teachers campus-wide to support writing in the disciplines and writing across the curriculum, successful experience teaching in English Composition, and experience with a range of writing courses beyond English Composition are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates with successful experience tutoring in a writing center, as well as familiarity in digital rhetoric and multimodal composition, are also strongly encouraged to apply.
This position includes the following responsibilities:
* Teach undergraduate courses in English Composition, as well as other undergraduate writing courses depending on the expertise and interests of the successful candidate and the needs of the academic units (i.e. Media Writing, Technical Writing, Methods of Teaching Writing, and/or an interdisciplinary First Year Seminar).
* Contribute to ongoing curriculum review and expansion.
* Tutor in the Writing Center.
* Develop and teach on-line course offerings.
* Advise and supervise internships and independent studies.
* Advise students.
* Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
* Perform institutional service and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
