The department of Information and Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Computer Science. The Information and Computing Sciences unit focuses on problems of information, how meaningful information is constructed from data, and how it may be stored, valued, processed, and communicated by both people and machines. Candidates with interests in Networking, Data Science, Operating Systems, Architecture and Organization, E-Commerce, Internet Programming and/or Computer Graphics are encouraged to apply.
This position includes the following responsibilities:
- Teach both introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in Computer Science and in Information Science with respect to networking, information technology, and emerging technologies.
- Contribute to ongoing curriculum review and expansion.
- Develop and teach on-line course offerings.
- Establish and develop partnerships with local and national companies including IT-related industry and research centers.
- Advise and supervise internships and independent studies.
- Advise students.
- Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
- Perform institutional service and contribute to the ongoing development of the Information and Computing Science department.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to display a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship, and a commitment to undergraduate education. Additionally, they should possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues. Candidates with industry experience, including consulting and contracted research experience are encouraged to apply.
