Welcome Wenkai Zhou!

Wenkai ZhouWenkai Zhou was welcomed by the Business Administration Department on August 21, 2017, as a new Assistant Professor of Marketing.  Prior to UWGB, he taught International Marketing and Marketing Research at New Mexico State University for four years.

Wenkai earned his Ph.D. in Marketing from New Mexico State University, his M.B.A. from the University of California, Riverside, and his B.A., Magna Cum Laude, in Business Administration-Marketing from Eastern Washington University.

He is from Xi’an, China (home to the Terracotta Warriors).

Welcome Mandeep Singh Bakshi!

Mandeep Bakshi-1Mandeep Singh Bakshi has been a Lecturer in Natural & Applied Sciences since August 2016.  Beginning August 21, 2017, he will be an Assistant Professor of Inorganic Chemistry.

Mandeep has his Ph.D. and is actively involved with lecturing high school students.  He enjoys jogging, walking, and cooking in his free time.

Mandeep is married and is from Waterloo-Kitchener, Canada.

Welcome Stephanie Rhee!

social work, Stephanie Rhee-1Starting today, August 21, 2017, Stephanie Rhee is a new Assistant Professor in Social Work.  She was the Assistant Professor at Youngstown State University, Ohio, from 2014-2017 and a Medical Social Worker at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Ohio, between 2005 and 2014.

Stephanie earned her Ph.D. in Social Work from The University of Kentucky, her M.S.S.A. at Case Western Reserve University, and her M.A. in Medical Anthropology at Case Western Reserve University.  She also has an M.A. in English Literature from Korea University and a B.A. in English Literature from Seoul Women’s University.

She is involved in aging studies, conducted research on Korean immigrant elders residing in non-Korean ethnic enclaves, and participated in a collaborative research project called VIBE (Valley Initiative to Promote Balance Among the Elderly) in Youngstown areas.  She is a member of the National Association of Social Works and Gerontological Society of America.

Stephanie enjoys playing golf and reading.  She is married and has three “cute” pets.  She is from La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Welcome Terrance Mapes!

social work, Terrance Mapes-1Terrance Mapes was hired on August 21, 2017, as a Lecturer in Social Work.  He has been a practicing Social Worker since 1988.  Prior to joining UW-Green Bay, he worked for Riverside Psychiatric Group for 15 years.

Terrance earned his BSW from UW-Green Bay and his MSSW from UW-Madison.  He is active in the community with politics, activism, and music.  He also enjoys personal fitness, art, and travel.

Terrance is married with adult children and is from Green Bay.

Welcome Mark Norfleet!

CST, Mark Norfleet, NAS, Natural and Applied Sciences-2Mark Norfleet was hired on August 21, 2017, as an Assistant Professor in Mathematics for the Department of Natural & Applied Sciences.  Mark earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin, his M.S. in Mathematics from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his B.S. in Mathematics from Kansas State University.

Mark spent the past two years as a visiting Assistant Professor at Emory University.  He plays the double bass and enjoys playing jazz and classical music.  He also enjoys finding symmetries in nature and art, since it brings to life many aspects of his mathematical research.

Mark is from Wichita, Kansas.

Welcome Marisa Balistreri!

CAHSS, Marisa Balistreri, Performing Arts-1Marisa Balistreri was welcomed by the Music Department on August 1, 2017, as the new Performing Arts Coordinator.  Marisa received her Bachelor of Arts in theatre and drama (acting specialist) and psychology from UW-Madison.  She is from Madison, Wisconsin.

Welcome Eric Arneson!

Campus Climate, Eric Arneson, Studen Affairs-8Eric Arneson was hired as the new Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Climate on July 1, 2017.  He has 25 years of combined professional experience working for several universities:  Florida International, University of Miami, University of Illinois, and Western Illinois University.

Eric earned his Doctor of Education from Florida International University, his MA from Bowling Green State University, and is BS from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.

Eric has been active in community events, having coached YMCA sports, tutored children, chaired United Way fundraising events, and participated in autism walks. He also enjoys reading, sports, movies, and spending time with friends and family.

Eric’s hometown is Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, and after many years away, is very excited to be coming home to Wisconsin with his wife Tenaye, son Kenny, and their dog Blue.
