Director of Athletics

The Director of Athletics (AD) reports to the Chancellor and is a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet. The AD will provide strategic vision, leadership, and effective management oversight of the Phoenix Division I athletic program.  A major responsibility of the AD will be to integrate the university athletic strategy into the overall University vision by developing and nurturing deep collaborations with University Advancement and the Divisions of Academic Affairs, Business & Finance, and University Inclusivity & Student Affairs.

This position provides administrative direction and strategic oversight to all intercollegiate and recreational sports and core activities, ensuring that all programs fully comply with institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. The AD exercises oversight over all departmental budgetary, financial, operational, and Human Resources-related requests. This position will work to enhance UW – Green Bay’s inclusive Athletics efforts and create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.

The position requires a very high community profile, the ability to work effectively within an athletic conference, a commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and equity, and most importantly a focus on student success.
