Assistant Professor – Strings and Music Education

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to build a newly established string program through recruitment and instruction of string players. The successful candidate will teach individual applied strings (violin and viola), direct string orchestras and string techniques for Music Education majors, and supervise string student teachers. Expectations will include outreach to Wisconsin string teachers and scholarship/creativity activity in string performance and/or pedagogy consistent with rank. Strong high string performers and recognized leaders in string pedagogy and music education are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates with Suzuki certification, experience teaching K-12, and directing and/or performing in diverse string ensembles (i.e., ethnic, folk, or commercial music) are also strongly encouraged to apply.
