The Theatre and Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in Acting. Individuals with expertise in stage performance as well as experience in film/television, higher education, or Stanislavski-based methodologies are encouraged to apply. The department is particularly interested in candidates with any of the following: non-Western acting methods, devising, directing, dance, site-specific performance, digital performance, or the dramatic literature/history of any area of American ethnic or multicultural theater; experience in anti-racist and/or decolonizing theatre making practices.
The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses in Performance including (but not limited to) beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of acting, Improvisation, Stage Movement, Acting for the Camera, and additional courses related to the candidate’s specific expertise, and Direct at least one production in the program’s mainstage season per academic year. This position will help develop a digital/film performance curriculum in addition to teaching current performance courses.
This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay’s mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
