The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay invites applications for a tenure-track position in Technical and Professional Writing. The ideal candidate will develop curriculum for a new Technical and Professional emphasis in our BFA in Writing and Applied Arts program and teach courses in several of the following areas: Technical Writing, Professional Writing, Science or Environmental Writing, Writing for Nonprofits, Editing for Publication, and/or Universal Design. Candidates with expertise in Public/Community-Engaged Writing are strongly preferred. We especially welcome candidates with additional interests in teaching the history of the book, multimodal storytelling, podcasting, and/or the Book Arts. Candidate will also contribute courses to the interdisciplinary humanities program.
Established in 2019, the BFA in Writing and Applied Arts program is a unique program with coursework in multiple genres of writing, including writing for games, as well as community-based internships in editing, publishing, and community outreach. The program houses both the internationally distributed journal of the arts, Sheepshead Review, and an experimental Teaching Press. High-impact practices and hands-on learning are central to its craft-focused, community-facing curriculum.
