UW-Green Bay Chancellor Gary L. Miller sends the following message to faculty and staff:

Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,

I hope you are enjoying Employee Appreciation Week, a special time set aside to enjoy the camaraderie of those we work with and to say thank you. Your dedicated service and commitment to UW-Green Bay, our students, and the State of Wisconsin is remarkable.

In ways large and small, your work touches the lives of many people every day. Watch our video to see how much we need you and your talents at UW-Green Bay.

As we celebrate you this week, I am especially excited to announce the return of the Phoenix Friday Every Day Initiative this summer. It was fantastic to see your Phoenix pride on full display last summer, and I invite you to do the same this year! You’ll see that the full calendar of events for this week includes Bookstore specials that will help you replenish your supply of green gear. Other events include:

• Tuesday – Hitch a Ride with Leadership Golf Cart Rides
• Wednesday – “I’m a Phoenix Photo” and Faculty and Staff Cookout
• Thursday – Team Building Fun on the Plaza and After Hours Happy Hour
• Friday – Phoenix Friday and Plant Sale

The challenges we encounter in higher education we face together. I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a talented workforce of people dedicated to delivering on our mission and am proud of what we’ve accomplished together this year. Our future at UW-Green Bay is bright.

Simply put, there’s no UWGB without U. I hope you are enjoying the activities taking place this week and a semester end filled with great accomplishments.

Thank you again for your exceptional service and commitment to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. I hope to see you at the cookout.

This week is “Employee Appreciation Week,” an opportunity to thank you for your dedicated service and commitment to UW-Green Bay and the State of Wisconsin.  I am deeply grateful to you for your innovative spirit, your commitment to transforming the lives of our students and your love of this place.

Like you, Georgia and I are proud to be part of the Phoenix family.  I see this every Friday when you wear your spirit gear and put that pride on display for the entire campus and community to see.

I want that pride to catch fire even more so I’m declaring every day “Phoenix Friday” all summer long.  Employees are welcome–and encouraged!—to wear their GB gear each and every day of the summer so that your campus spirit shines just as brightly on Monday through Thursday as it does on Friday.

Need to add some new items into your wardrobe?  The Bookstore is offering an additional 20% of all apparel on Wednesday and Friday of this week so you can stock up.

We are fortunate to have a talented workforce full of people dedicated to advancing UW-Green Bay and the Green Bay community.  Indeed, there is no UWGB without U.
