Joining us on the Sheboygan campus for a visit? Make a day of it! There’s plenty to see and do in the Malibu of the Midwest.
Local Art Scene
Downtown Sheboygan is home to several art galleries and museums. Looking for local art? Head to the Sheboygan Visual Artists on Saturdays for art shows whose themes change monthly. Kohler Company has not one, but two buildings dedicated to the arts and art history. The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is filled with galleries, an eatery, courses, and events, while the Art Preserve serves as a home for internationally renowned artist-built environments.
Terry-Andrae Park
Step into the outdoors on the lakefront in Kohler-Andrae State Park. Part sand dunes, part beach, Kohler Andrae makes for a great hiking spot and wildlife viewing area. Feeling extra adventurous? Camp overnight in the park!
Food Truck Monday
On Mondays throughout the warmer months, food trucks from all over eastern Wisconsin travel to Vollrath Park for Food Truck Mondays! Get your sweet, savory, and spicy all in one place, while supporting local small businesses. Over 1,000 people visit each week!
Water Sports
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention all of the fun watersports on the shores of Lake Michigan! August through April, we turn into a freshwater surfer’s haven – ten-foot waves and all. Not into extreme sports? Kayak down the Sheboygan River, paddleboard when the lake is calm, or head out on a deep-water fishing expedition – your choice!
South Pier Parlor
Cap off your visit with a trip back in time at South Pier Parlor. This old-school ice cream shop features handmade waffle cones, a soda fountain, and homemade fudge – yum! Complete with penny tiles, decorative ceiling tiles, and a model train running around the walls of the shop, the store’s knick-knacks are fun to discover, too!
There’s fun for everyone – on campus and in the city. Thanks for joining us – and enjoy your visit!
