Bask!
Bask in the glory of the light of the sun
Shining down with its holy grace Let it wash away the sin, let it all be done There is no doubt you are sore from your run Though we both know it was not a race Bask now in the glory of the light of the sun It’s over now, and there’s no way you’ve won But that doesn’t matter, just feel the sun’s embrace Let it wash away the shame, let it all be done Don’t turn back, this one can’t be undone Just rest in its beam now you have the space Bask in the glory of the light of the sun You try to produce tears, and yet there are none Still, its endless splendor beats down on your face Let it wash away the sorrow, let it all be done Let it echo through you, making you feel like one At solace with yourself and connected with this place Bask now in the glory of the light of the sun Let it wash away, let it all be done —© 2023 by Andrew Wiegman
