Rainbow Eyes A set of eyes so weird and wonderful, So far from anything one man could dream To see something so grand and palpable Nothing on Earth could reach its height it seems They say the typical, cliche colors You hear some brown, green, blue, some standard fair Perhaps hazel from passionate lovers But nothing made me lose a gasp of air But hers, those eyes that are more rare than gold A stew of every color in a bowl A gift to stay with her ‘til she grows old A window to look deep into the soul I write these words to one with eyes so free So she preserves the beauty she can’t see
