Welcome to the UW-Green Bay Instructional Develop Institute (IDI) Call for Proposals Page!
Theme: Moving from Access to Connection
At UW-Green Bay our mission begins with access, but it doesn’t end there. This year’s Instructional Development Institute (IDI) invites participants to explore how fostering authentic connections can deepen student engagement across all modalities and promote meaningful learning experiences throughout every step of the educational journey – in and outside of class. This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Michelle Pacansky-Brock who is well known for her work with humanizing the educational experience.
Call for Proposals
CATL and the Instructional Development Council (IDC) at UW-Green Bay are now accepting applications for the all-virtual IDI on January 6, 2026. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Instructional Development Institute (IDI)?
The IDI is UW-Green Bay’s one-day, virtual, and completely free teaching and learning conference. It is open to educators across Wisconsin and provides a space for faculty, staff, and educational partners to share strategies, research, and experiences that enrich teaching and learning. The conference features a national-level keynote speaker related to the year’s theme, as well as presentations by UW-Green Bay faculty, staff, and community partners. The IDI is made possible through the partnership between CATL and the Instructional Development Council (IDC) and the continued support of the UW-Green Bay community.
When and where will the 2026 IDI take place?
This year’s IDI takes place Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026. It is an all-day virtual event hosted through a Canvas course shell with access to virtual sessions through Zoom, so no travel is necessary for participants and attendees.
Who can submit a session proposal?
Any UW-Green Bay faculty or staff member is welcome to apply. Collaborators from other institutions may join as co-presenters, but the lead presenter must be affiliated with UW-Green Bay.
Who can attend the IDI?
The IDI is primarily attended by UW-Green Bay instructors and staff but is open to educators across the Universities of Wisconsin and beyond. Session proposals should be designed with higher education faculty and staff in mind.
What support will CATL offer me if I’m selected to present?
If you are selected to present, you will be assigned a CATL facilitator. Your facilitator will communicate with you about any edits to your session description, scheduling your presentation, and uploading session materials to Canvas. They will also help moderate your Zoom session on the day of the IDI.
