Mariner’s Trail
Stretching along the Lake Michigan coast, Mariners Trail walks you through many parks and greenways. Take a stop at Lakeview Park to walk out to the lighthouse or watch the boats sail in and out of the harbor. All in all, a relaxing way to spend the afternoon!
Indulge in the rows upon rows of curated and color-coordinated blossoms at the West of the Lake Gardens. The park includes nine different gardens sprawling six acres overlooking Lake Michigan. The gardens are supported by the West Foundation, which supports initiatives and non-profits in the Manitowoc area. Supporting the garden supports the community!
Planning a trip to Manitowoc in August? Stick around for the balloons – hot air balloons that is! As they take to the sky, entertain yourself with family-friendly fun, food trucks, and fireworks. A can’t miss event!
As one of the Top 5 Funkiest Festivals (according to Reader’s Digest) Sputnik Fest is an annual celebration of that time when a piece of the Sputnik IV landed in the streets of Manitowoc. Ever since, the community comes together for a space-themed festival. It’s out of this world!
Our position on Lake Michigan makes us the ideal place to host a maritime museum – and boy, do we deliver! The combination of a large collection of maritime memorabilia and being the former construction site of WWII submarines packs a lot of history into one place. Looking for a place to stay when you visit? Stay on a real WWII submarine, restored to its former glory – really!
Get ready to live among the past while you create your future! We can’t wait for you to experience all that Manitowoc has to offer.
