The Willie D. Davis Finance & Investment Lab

Construction will begin shortly on the Willie D. Davis Finance and Investment Lab, which will be located on the ground floor of Wood Hall, WH-114. It will be equipped with analytical tools that are widely used in the industry. Students will take classes in the lab and can also utilize the analytical tools in the lab to manage a soon-to-be established Student Managed Investment Fund.

An Advisory Board of Industry Professionals has been selected and the first meeting of the board will be held within the next few weeks.  The Advisory Board will provide guidance for programming and insight on software and hardware that is central to the delivery of a modern business education built around high-impact student experiences. This is the first step in achieving the goal of providing a focal point for building community among students, faculty, and industry professionals to provide learnings inside and outside of the traditional classroom.

In conjunction with the Willie D. Davis Finance and Investment Lab, the university has entered a team in the 2021 CFA Investment Research Challenge.  A team from the university will compete with other universities to analyze a designated publicly-traded company; prepare a written report on that company; and present/defend their findings to a panel of industry experts.  The team will receive advice and support from a facility advisor and industry mentors.
