On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, the Environmental Management and Business Institute (EMBI) and the Wisconsin DNR jointly received a citation from Senator Rob Cowles recognizing the work done to revive the Wisconsin Recycling Markets Directory. The Wisconsin Recycling Markets Directory is an online tool that allows users to search for recycling outlets for hard-to-recycle or unusual recyclable materials, as well as common items such as paper and metals. Users can select from the drop-down category menu and further narrow their search by item or material type. https://www.uwgb.edu/shwec/
The partnership with Joe Van Rossum and Jennifer Semrau from the WDNR has allowed EMBI, led by Director John Arendt and student Emily Drown, to re-launch the directory which was previously hosted by the UW-Extension Solid and Hazardous Waste Education Center.
