“During my faculty employment search, which consisted of six final stage interviews across the country, my primary factors for finding an academic home were workplace culture, a vision-based mission, and the presence of courageous and impact-driven leadership. In short, it had to “feel right”. Yes, a “feeling” is subjective, however, when the search for that feeling is intentional, that “feel right” becomes an objective measure that is revealed through intuition.
