Professor Waubanascum co-authors new publication in the Journal of Adversity and Resilience Science

Professor Cary Waubanascum recently co-authored a newly published a paper in the Journal of Adversity and Resilience Science with her team of co-authors from the Native Children’s Research Exchange titled, “Striving to Be Pono (Balanced, Equitable, and Hopeful): Conceptualizing an Indigenous Writing Process from a Native Hawaiian Cultural Perspective”. Prof. Waubanascum attended an Indigenous Writing Retreat in April, 2022 as part of her activities as a Native Children’s Research Exchange (NCRE) Scholar. This profound experience inspired this team of Indigenous scholars, led by Native Hawaiian scholars, to write this beautiful manuscript. The NCRE Scholars Program is a mentorshp program for early career Indigenous Scholars through the University of Colorado, Centers for American Indian and Alaska Native Health and funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institutes of Health.
