Dr Bansal gave a Keynote on “AI Ethics from an Engineer’s Perspective” at the 2024 Fox-Wolf Watershed Conference

Dr Gaurav Bansal from Cofrin School of Business delivered a keynote on AI Ethics from an Engineer’s Perspective at the 2024 Fox-Wolf Watershed Conference held at the Grand Ball Room of Hotel Radisson in Green Bay on Feb 28, 2024.

Here is a brief synopsis of his talk:
AI and Ethics mean many things to many people. For engineers, it means learning how AI can be used ethically to engineer solutions and how to do so even more efficiently and effectively. A lot has been written about AI ethics; however, in this keynote, I will summarize the world of AI ethics and bring it to the world we understand as engineers. The presentation focuses on three learning objectives:
1. Define the difference between AI micro and macro ethics.
2. Understand how explicit and implicit misrepresentation is present in AI tools.
3. Learn how AI tools are shaping our work and world.
