Save the Date – UW-Green Bay Day at Lambeau Field
We’re celebrating all things UW-Green Bay with our partner, the Green Bay Packers! Come out to Lambeau Field on Saturday, November 15 to check out what’s new at your alma mater and then attend an afternoon Green Bay men’s basketball game at the Resch. There will be plenty of fun to keep you and your family busy and it’s free! Watch for updates at www.uwgb.edu/alumni.
Nov 23 – Join us for the Green Bay Holiday Parade and Alumni Gathering
The Green Bay Holiday Parade takes place at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 23 in Downtown Green Bay. UW-Green Bay will again have a float in the parade and we will be handing out candy on the parade route. This year, we have a special treat for our alumni who are wearing their UWGB gear. “Sport” your UWGB apparel and receive a complimentary ticket to that night’s 7 p.m. Green Bay Phoenix men’s basketball game! Wave us down as the UWGB float goes by and we will hand you a ticket to the game. It’s that easy.
We also invite you to an alumni gathering immediately after the parade. Join us at our alumni tent in the Johnson Bank parking lot, located on South Washington Street, for hot chocolate and goodies. Our affinity partner, Liberty Mutual, will have a hot cocoa toppings bar to sweeten your drink as well. Phlash will be available for photos, too! If game tickets remain, they will also be given to those who attend the alumni gathering.
So come out to the Green Bay Holiday Parade to enjoy the season and support your alma mater! Go Phoenix!
Our Alumni make a Joyful Noise
The music we hear at the Holiday Parade is going to be fantastic. We’re so proud to learn that the following bands will be directed by UW-Green Bay alumni.
Karen (Bauer) Iken: East High School
David Viste: West High School
Kevin VanEss: Washington Middle School Jazz
Marc Jimos: Ashwaubenon High School
Becky (Martin) Rego: Franklin Middle School Choir
Alumni Volunteer Challenge
December is busy for everyone and there’s no exception for UW-Green Bay alumni. But count UWGB alumni among those who are doers and givers, even during the busiest of seasons. We are challenging our alumni to represent the UW-Green Bay Alumni Association in the following volunteer efforts:
• Saturday, Dec. 7 – Red Kettle* Alumni Challenge at Bay Park Square Mall, 10 a.m. – noon
UW-Green Bay alumni have been given a challenge to defeat St. Norbert and NWTC alumni at the annual Bell Ringing Alumni Challenge. We are looking for volunteers who know how to ring bells and show holiday cheer and/or school spirit to help us win! Bring your family. Bring your friends. Just be there! We promise it will be fun. Contact Alumni Association Board Member, Ann Lor, at annd.lor@gmail.com to volunteer for the Red Kettle Challenge.
• Saturday, Dec. 14 – Commencement/Alumni Receiving Line, Weidner Center, 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Help us congratulate and welcome our newly graduated. (Claim your FREE 360ᵒ of Pride t-Shirt!) Contact your Director of Alumni Relations, Kari Moody, at moodyk@uwgb.edu to volunteer for the alumni receiving line.
